I have been. I think he is doing a great job in recruiting, but I am still not convinced he is getting the most out of the DL.

I could be wrong because it has happened three times before in my life.

Part of the issue is that Lawson can't stay healthy and Daniel got kicked off the team.

Could the DL be better? Sure but some of it is not Garner's fault. The improvement when Lawson came back was pretty significant.

Well, I get that, but there is other evidence. Why do most of our DE's crash down and leave our outside open for long runs?

Charles Barkley gave us a gem of a quote yesterday on Bill Simmon's show.. Might be applicable to some (or all) of us

quote:

The Internet is where losers go to feel important

Lets all think about those words as we close in on NSD. War Eagle

Is this where we say #fire RG
More like #move RG. No one doubts he can recruit. It's his players not producing on the field once they get here that has people knocking him.

Everyone goes to the internet.

That's like saying the bathroom is where losers go to act like royalty.

I've always felt like he was at worst a solid recruiter, but there is much deserved criticism for how he hasn't filled out DL classes at AU. It's great he pulled in Monty/Russell, but we had DT depth issues before he showed up and he only has 3 HS DTs, no quality speed DEs and other issues on his record.

Seems like he puts a lot of work in on lost causes and we end up striking out on our next up guys because we put them on the back burner.

Monty
Lawson
Daniel
Cowart (Muschamp but still)
Russell
Williams
Thornton
Lambert
Jackson
Davidson
Coe
Brown (maybe)

Off the top of my head all those guys are 5* or solid to high 4* players that have been brought in since Garner was hired. I doubt there are more than one or two programs in the country who could match that over the last 4 signing classes.

From a poster on the UGA board

quote:

Yes...yes it is...but we need our boys...all of them.

Mr. Brown
Mr. Robinson
Mr. Price
Mr. Carter
Mr. Hardman
Mr. Wilson
Mr. Burns
Mr. Marshall

If you are reading this, We wait to celebrate the news of your loyalty to your Dawgs family. We love ya and hope you decide to play for the best state in the union. We need our Sons of Georgia to stay home and prove to the world that Georgia can be champions again. YOU can be our Weekend Warriors, our Legends.

We are beaming at the chance to hear your names echoed through the halls of our school, Sanford Stadium, and the walls of our homes. We wait to cheer YOU on Mr. Brown when you collapse the pocket and crush the opposing QBs of the world, and YOU Mr. Robinson when you make that game winning one handed corner of the endzone catch under double coverage that only you can make, and YOU Mr. Price when Chubbtronic trucks his way to a 60 yard TD thanks to the gaping hole you left in your wake on your way to leveling the Reggie Raglands and Julius Peppers of the world, and YOU Mr. Carter standing side by side Towering Trent Thompson and Big Derrick Brown and your fellow band of brothers as you steamroll your way into history and bring back the true meaning of "JUNKYARD DAWGS" causing QBs and Olinemen everywhere to piss their pants at the thought of crossing YOUR line, and YOU Mr. Hardman creating an epidemic of epic proportions in OCs and DCs alike to have irreversible insomnia trying to game plan against you, and YOU Mr. Wilson, Mr. Burns and Mr. Marshall when you create permanent facial tics and night terrors due to nerve and Psychological damage to all who think about carrying that rock, THAT'S YOUR ROCK!!!

For when the chips are down and and the bullets are flying, or our jobs and personal lives suck, and it takes all we can all our being, ALL OUR FIBER just to get through the week and make it to the glory and relief that is Saturday, WE WANT YOU ON OUR TEAM!!! WE NEED YOU ON OUR TEAM!!!

You won't regret it. We will give our ALL to you win or lose. GO DAWGS!!!

Sometimes I get down about the Auburn board. But then, I check out the UGA board and I feel a little better about what we've got going on here

I know right It's amazing how in the fall he was an average recruiter and anyone that dared defend him was labeled posibarner/sunshine pumper. Now all of a sudden everyone is like "Ya I always said Garner is a great recruiter". Get the frick out of here

As to his coaching ability. This year is pretty much all his guys so no more excuses. I saw a better DL this year but the consistency wasn't there. I think we have a chance of having a strong front 4 if we can stay somewhat healthy
