Newkirk won't be a part of the class this year. He's no longer at The First Academy and will be at Mississippi Gulf Coast next year. He's just too far behind from his days at Evans that he can't catch up by the end of this year.

Hate to hear that. I didn't think he would win the spot but wanted all our QB options on campus in spring. On another note Barrett has the strangest looking body for a QB I have seen in awhile

I'm fine with him not coming in during the spring since there would be no chance of him starting. If JJ transfers, it would be nice to just have White, Franklin, and Queen taking reps.

Dude will have a chance to play immediately. If we lose Adams will basically be down to Russell & Lawrence when it comes to proven guys (I don't count Swain cuz I swear that guy is always going backwards) so he is a must get.
Funny how start of the recruiting cycle it appeared like we were going to get an elite DL class. Then it seemed like was all falling apart after the Williams & Marshall decommits. Now back to looking like an outstanding class with James reaffirming & hopefully Davidson signing next week. Add both Jackson & Brown & it will be hard to find a DL class as deep & talented as this one if we can finish strong
