We talked about this in the OC thread but our WR's based on our current pass/offensive game need the following qualities
1- Elite downfield speed
2- Blocking ability
Our passing game is 90% (arbitrary % I threw out) downfield where our WRs are tasked with getting a step on the DBs who are conditioned to read run (or bubble screen which should be considered a perimeter run from a throw IMO)
You need guys like Sammie Coates (#1) who can capitalize on the slightest hesitation from a DB and beat them deep
You also need guys like Melvin Ray who are solid perimeter blockers so CBs/S have to be aggressive defending the flats, opening them up to misreads/hesitation

Jerod Evans the JUCO qb threw for 8 touchdowns with Rhett Lashlee in attendance Saturday. On the season here's his stats

He's also ran for 414 yards and 4 TDs.

I feel like we're about to get into some serious quarterback overload with Sean White for the next three (hopefully?) years and Barrett and Narcisse already coming in

I think this year proved it wouldn't hurt to have two guys ready to go. This guy seems to have a chance to be elite, and worth the risk.

Need more running yards!
Would really be nice to pick up Davis. We are going to rely on true freshman in the receiving core next year.

Barrett has not looked great this year fwiw

If you want big play runs you need WR's that can block also...

Anyone got any info on Kyle Davis? Announcing Friday and I've read many think we get him. Seems its come down to AU and UT for him.

Most people seem to believe Auburn will get his commitment.

Per Rivals Antwan Jackson still with tOSU and AU at top. He plans to official to tOSU when they play Michigan State next month. He likes the community up there and the dline coach. They talk several times a week per Jackson. He doesn't plan on using all 5 OVs but may visit Bama and maybe USCw

As far as Kyle Davis I think he's trying every way he can to not go to UGA but isn't being blown away by anyone else. He was leaning UT for a while but then their season went to shite. He loves D. Craig and our offense but we aren't exactly playing lights out this year. I believe he commits to us Friday because of D. Craig but ultimately ends up at UGA
