just a random post here, but we seriously shouldn't be concerned with any part of recruiting right now. Honestly there are 8 months until NSD and there will definitely be other guys that emerge to replace Marshall and/or Williams with, if need be.

FWIW there was a quote from David Marshall that said we were still his top school after his decommitment.

Nope, I hope we fill his spot with someone else too. Only reason why he still considers us number 1 is because Dinky hasn't given him a commitable offer yet. The fact that he was recruiting for Auburn at BCW and then decommits two days later after saban sweet talks in his ear is embarrassing enough. Pound sand kid.

Maybe someday these kids' parents will wise up to the games coaches like Saban play and stop letting their kids fall for them.
Marshall obviously wants to go to Bama or he wouldn't have decommitted and if Saban wanted him he would have offered him. This is just Saban playing games to make Auburn look bad by having decommitments around BCW.

Saban doesn't really play games. If a kid is told when he commits that he could end up being asked to grayshirt, that is the risk he takes when he commits.
This is recruiting though. We try and hook kids, even backups too. No one, not even Bama, gets all their #1s or "sure things" so they need to have backups in the back pocket. It would be horrible planning to not have backups, a la Garner or Chizik.
If you think a coach with an ego like Saban, who believes he is the best and has multiple #1 recruiting classes, is somehow "worried" about Auburn, you are moronic. It would be like saying America's foreign policy focus is North Korea. Ya, they are on our radar and something to pay attention too, but we have more important things than to care about them

I don't wish him bad luck but I don't think kids should commit until they are through.
Cutting kids off that decommit, like some want to, won't stop them from doing it. You will just have more wait until NSD and flip and you will be left scrambling for backup plans every year.
