I'm amazed at how few non qualifiers we have recruited the past few years. It truly speaks a lot of how well our coaches research and get to know the kids that we accept into not only our football team but our university also.

Tubs knew who his non-qualifiers were too, he just felt that they deserved a day in the sun when it came to signing LOIs. True story, he really did sign players knowing they were sign and place since numbers didn't matter except how many showed up to school.

Despite D'Anfernee Mcgriff, Torrance Gibson may need some work as well.

Per Jhoke
Ellis recruited run fitting safeties and a lot of them. Muschamp wants to recruit more man to man corners moving away from the surplus of safeties. Champ wants more compact corners that can cover and change direction. We should also see an uptick in true LB recruiting

quote:It's because of the new recruiting rules. It used to be where a NQ wouldn't count against the 25 per year scholarship restrictions so you could back count on those players LOI. Now, every LOI signed counts against the 25. By sign & placing kids, you basically waste one of your 25 allowed scholarships for that recruiting cycle.

Cece Jefferson is now confirmed to be visiting this weekend. Coming on Friday and leaving on Sunday

Would the three like the idea of being a trio at the same position? I guess that us what I meant?

quote:Oh we'll here a lot but unless Tim Irvin visits on the 16th or we know we are out on big fish before the last weekend and offer back up plans, there likely will not be any AU commits til NSD week.
Is the general consensus that we will not hear much more until NSD. Or do you think some might commit after the 16th?

Austin is kick arse. I'd love to go to school there

Ryan Davis is a guy that could commit early.

AU is very confident it can get Kendrick Norton

quote:Na. We'll close with 4 or 5 four stars at the very worst. 2012 gets the pub but 2008 was the worst NSD/finish. NSD was rough in 2012 but we did get AY that day plus Diamond and Kozan later.
This is setting up to be either the worst or best signing day ever

The way it sounded to me is that Francois recently reaches out to AU.

quote:That's because the recruiting rules have changed the past 4 or 5 year. You'd have to be caveman dumb to sign more than 1 now. Per the rules, every player a school signs must count against a 25 for a class even if he never enroils. Before there was no penalty for signing and placing kids whereas there basically is now per the above rule. Also you don't have unlimited, then 28, signing spots for classes as there used to be.

ETA: My bad. Joey already covered this.
