Since Tuesday, the 6-foot-1, 228-pounder said nearly every school in Conference USA has contacted him as well as Wisconsin, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Louisville and Boise St.
He's met face-to-face with coaches from Vanderbilt, Nevada and Middle Tennessee State.
That's what happens when you set a school record for rushing yards with 1,587 yards, second in Conference USA, and tie another one with 13 rushing touchdowns as a sophomore and your school's administration decides to shut down down the program.
Howard said he's still processing everything and coming to grips with the fact that UAB football is no more. He hasn't started dwindling his list of suitors down but did say he will make a decision later this month with an eye on enrolling wherever he signs in January.
"I don't want to get too far behind," he said.

Update on Christian Kirk from 247:
Auburn believes they are in the top 2. Arizona St is the other team in contention. A&M is still a factor but Auburn believes they've been ahead of them for weeks.
USC may be slipping.
Gus and Craig have an in-home scheduled next week. We go into it being cautiously optimistic.

I think Bama pretty much has that locked up barring a few decommitments and them not landing anyone else which is unlikely. Still that would be a solid class, best I can remember on paper

Haha that's pretty sobering that all of those guys still wouldn't catch us up to bama. When I typed it out I figured that would put us easily at #1.
