Anyway, according to Bone, Williams has called off his commitment. Sounds like he wanted to commit to Auburn, but the coaches said they wanted to talk first.

Maybe they need to talk to Harrell and see how solid he is.

Per Harrell, he's "solid as water"

Per Monty Atkinson via Vols 247, he has visited UT each of the last 2 weekends and prefers playing LB where UT is recruiting him, instead of Star.

Sounds like the main reason he's an AU commit is because he grew up an AU fan.

So I guess we're going to have to start going after 2* players no one else wants to play the Star. Otherwise we are going to scare off all the good LBs or Safeties we go after to play the position.

Darryl Williams called off his announcment today. AU coaches are on vacation and dead period about to begin so speculating he's waiting to talk to staff before commits. Others think he may be waiting on a Bama offer. KN think AU is in good shape.

As far as Monty Adkinson goes.. unless we can get him on campus a lot more I think he flips. He was really excited with the UGA offer and now UT is recruiting he and his teamate D'Andre Walker pretty hard. He likes Butch and Thigpen a lot. I think he Gone and that sucks because I like him a lot more than the Sullivan kid we recruited for Star.

He's a much better fit for Star than LB. But hey, if he wants to be a 215lb LB at UT and be coached by Thigpen, go for it. Ask Justin Garrett how Thigpen likes those under-sized LBs. He doesn't have the frame to add on more than about 20/25lbs of good weight.

I think the amount of guys we have committed that can play the star and are still recruiting that could play it (McBryde and Holland) is also a reason Monty is looking around. I know KN reported a few times a few months ago Monty was concerned with # of kids we were bringing in for that star

Roquon Smith is a highly rated LB prospect and he isn't much heavier than Atkinson.

2016 5* QB Shae Patterson set to visit/camp here in July. Arizona committ where his bro is a grad assistant but visited AU briefly before and really liked the campus / facilities. He's kept in contact with Lashlee ever since and has a good relationship with him. He really likes what Malzahn done with Cam and Marshall. Patterson is a dual threat guy as well.

And Justin Garrett weighed 15lbs less than him when he was a SR but is around 225 now. And Javiere Mitchell was about the same size as MA in HS and has only put on 10 lbs since enrolling. What's your point?

You can't tell the difference in frames between these players?

compared to

He has narrow shoulders. That isn't a good frame for adding weight.

You forgot 1 piece to this puzzle. We now have 4 OL commits and the staff wants to reevaluate things on the OL after they get back from their vacations in mid July before deciding on taking Williams or not. The delay looks good for AU in that it looks like it's the school DW wants.

Also per someone on AUF who talks to DW's coaches, DW is all AU. He was wanting the Bama offer for the prestige of the offer from that elite program and not that he would commit to them. TIFWIW.

Apparently the UT 247 guy can't tell frame differences either. He compared the frames of Ro and Monty very favorably.

Here is Torrance Gibson's Blog from USA today. It doesn't say much but that UT is his leader right now and that he will commit after the season (Even though he said he was moving it up yesterday). He said the coaches compared him to Cam.

Two guys. Sullivan and Atkinson are exclusively getting looks at Star. Colbert could play there (and I know there was some talk of him being recruited there) but I'd rather have him at safety unless we pick up another safety commit (crosses fingers for Roundtree).

and are still recruiting that could play it (McBryde and Holland)
They might be getting the 'star' pitch but neither one of these guys will get looks at the position. Both are LB in our scheme. And with their ability to blitz, both look like OLB in our scheme. Although, I'd rather Holland play MLB.

Therezie is gone this year. Garrett will be a SR next year. Mackenro will be a JR next year. Unless Boston ends up moving over there, we don't have much depth at the position in 2015 without some players in this class.

We will have Garrett, Alexander and Boston in 2016

You mean 2016? We still would have Boston and Alexander + someone from this class which would give is 3 guys who would be in second year on team
