You need to give me something Coates does better than Julio to make him somewhat similar to Julio.
Julio is 6-3 220. Runs a 4.39. Can go up and get the ball. Vertical is 38.5 inches. Drops balls. Not a great route runner.
Coates is 6-1 201. The only 40 time I can get that wasn't timed by Auburn is 4.48. He hasn't shown he can go up and get the ball. Vertical is 38 inches. Drops balls and not a great route runner.
So Julio is bigger, faster, stronger, can jump higher, has better hands than Coates IMO.

quote:Not really.quote:and Alabama wasn't?
In a VERY run-heavy offense.
2010 bama ran the ball 56% of the time.
2013 auburn ran the ball 71% of the time.
Pretty drastic difference.
Facts and shite.

Coates won't go 1st round as it sits. But he can easily get drafted in the 2nd-3rd round.
He's quick, athletic, has played in big moments, and will probably have a quality season this year.
Dook is your more traditional go and get it #1 receiver.

You... Watched Auburn last year, right?
I watched Marshall sail passes. Then I watched him throw a good ball only to have it dropped countless times.
quote:
Of course it was because of Marshall. Auburn could have literally scored at will with a competent passer.
It was because of Marshall and the WRs. I don't know how many balls were dropped this season. Again when Marshall did throw good balls, they were dropped. You seem to have missed that part.

I'm just feeling very face-palm after reading all of this. You seem to have a preconception based on something that isn't factual.
This whole discussion is opinions. So no it's not factual. I'm wondering why NFL scouts don't know where you're getting these facts. I'm sure they would love to have them before the draft.

Can y'all take this somewhere else? The last 5+ pages is all bickering about 2 receivers that aren't RECRUITS! Please and thank you!

He doesn't have to do anything better than Julio to be picked in the first two rounds. If you had watched Julio's film from college, you would see that he didn't "go up and get the ball" very often at all. I was saying there wasn't a massive chasm between their ability levels.

There were a few drops. However, you can't throw to a WR once every five games and expect perfection. Marshall's accuracy was VERY sporadic.
I suppose we're going to find out. You probably would have said similar things about Robinson last year. Now he is a top 5 pick.

I told you give me something that makes him as talented as Julio because he's lacking in a lot of categories when you compare them.

I can if I'm picking a guy in the first couple of rounds in the draft.

I actually said the opposite. Had a Bama fan laughing for me saying GRob > CYKO on the recruiting board.
But this is my last post on the subject since it's the recruiting thread.

as a Falcons fan, I'm also now a big fan of Julio and think he's freakin' great. However, he isn't a 4.39 guy in pads and on the field. He's fast, don't get me wrong, but when I watch Coates ON THE FIELD, I see a faster guy than Julio. May not run a 4.39 like Julio, but on video Coates appears to separate easier than Julio when he gets going.

Actually, I can.
If you won't catch it the times I do get a chance to throw it to you, why should I count on you to catch if I throw it to you more?

Coates doesn't run great routes he doesn't have great hands and he is bad at making adjustments when the ball is in the air.
DQ is better at all that stuff.
Ohh and Julio would beast both of them

Julio is one of the rare athletic freaks in football his 40 at the combine was with a broken foot. Comparing someone to him is likely going to be a stretch no matter who they are

one time. Re-read this page, schizo.
quote:My shite was not lost at all. I was completely calm and I called a spade a spade. That was constructive criticism FTR. Either way I'm done trying to help you to be open minded. Since there is no ignore function on here Let's just agree right now to never reply to each other's opinions again whether we agree or disagree since we can't seem to get along. There is no need for the rest of the board to have to read our stupid bull shite.
Check yourself, man. I'm fricking zen, here. Always am. But don't lose your shite at me like that again. K? Even for you, there are much more socially acceptable, constructive ways to handle such situations
ETA: or cause 3 page long arguments from them. Damn! Sorry guys.
