4* OG Isaiah Wynn said UGA stands out the most per Radi Nabulsi. Also said his mom want out of Florida so it looks like the in state schools are out.

I did notice (just from the video) that most of his throws were 15 yards+. I imagine that when you're throwing deeper that it makes it harder for the pass to be completed, especially with a CB on you.

It's high school, completing less than 50% of your passes is a bad thing period. The last highly recruited QB we got that had a similar issues couldn't hit the broad side of a barn once he got here and wound up becoming a WR.

Not to say the kid couldn't improve, but it's not a good sign no matter how you slice it.

Bama just picked up Zach Whitley, so maybe this could be good news for us with Tre Williams.

Think so?

According to MSFootball in the recruiting thread Oklahoma doesn't even want him so he says Cornwall can't be special

Shades Valley sophomore defensive tackle Daron Payne lands Auburn and Ole Miss offers (video)

He's 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds, but was light enough on his feet to dunk a basketball as a 300-pound freshman. The rising junior learned how to throw the shot put seven weeks ago. He's at the state track meet this weekend because he can already heave one 50 feet.

His bench press shot up like a 2001 tech stock this spring. He's adding five pounds every two days to his max. That's currently at 395 pounds.

"I can power clean 305 (pounds) and can squat 435," Payne said.

Smith is confident he'll hoist 450 pounds by October.

From al.com. Does anyone have any thoughts on this guy? His dad's an Auburn fan and he seems like he could be a pretty big deal his senior year. Also has a twin that's an artist who doesnt play sports.

Two other tidbits about Daron: 1) He carries a 2.8 grade point average at Shades Valley and that high school has a very good academic reputation. 2) He's a down-to-earth and level-headed kid. His coaches said if he's on an unofficial visit that a smart SEC staff would be wise to keep him away from the party boys. That's not what he's looking for in a school.

Sounds like a big, strong, athletic kid.

I played football with a guy who was a twin. His brother didn't play sports either. He sure liked rainbows and unicorns though. Complete opposites, but looked exactly alike.

I would link it but I'm on my phone.

Nothing wrong with that IMO. At least he did not say University of Auburn.

I'll have a full story shortly but (Da'Shawn) Hand said he had a great time and will definitely be back later this summer or fall. He said Coach Malzahn had a lot of swagger. More to come...

Quotes from Hand on his Auburn visit. LINK
quote:

It exceeded my expectations. I thought it may be boring, but it was great...The food, oh my goodness, it was good. Everybody is so nice here and easy going. I saw the construction site for the new dorms. I got see the floor plans, that was the highlight. That's the first college dorm I've seen where everyone has their own bathroom. It comes with a flat screen, their own washer and dryer, a queen size bed. It’s just insane...I have a different impression of Auburn, I'm coming back for another visit and I'm definitely coming to the Iron Bowl. Everything was amazing. What stood out was taking me on the construction site and seeing all the equipment they use. It was really fun...Coach Dede is so organized and he wants to win. He graduated this weekend and I told him I felt like a proud father...They have this swagger, Coach Malzahn has this winning swagger, you just like him. He's just do down-to-earth. Coach Garner is good, he puts them out their in the league. He's a nice, genuine person...They are losing seniors at defensive end and they need some players. That's an eye-opener right there, I have to come back and visit...The food, you think I'm playing? If I can't eat there, no. I'm not starving myself to play football. I love Bar-B-Q, seafood, I like it all. The coaches, the people, the tradition and Auburn has a great tradition. The Tiger Walk looks really cool.

Reading his quotes makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. Laugh cause he seems to have genuinely enjoyed his visit and cry because this really means nothing at all until we have his LOI in our hand

Sounds like a really good kid though

Even if we don't get the NLI I think it still says a lot that even after a 3-9 season and complete staff turnover he will likely visit Auburn 2 or 3 times, especially if we can get his parents down with him.
