pretty sure Flowers is a Sophomore.

fwiw, I think we need to sign three LBs, regardless of what Evans ends up doing... not sure how realistic that is, though. Really wish we would've signed the Cunningham kid that ended up at Vandy.

Flowers is listed as a sophomore.

Agreed. He is going to be a super stud

Not true unless those kids have position portability

We run at most 2 LBs. Looking at 2014

JR- Cass, Frost, Flowers, Mitchell, Swain
SO- Toney
FR- Williams, Davis

We will have 8 scholarship players for 2 starting spots. Cass and Frost will likely start and between Mitchell (who was praised in camp), Swain, Flower and Tony we should have a solid 2deep rotation going.

Also, remember we are expecting to play a considerable amount of dime package in Miss St, Ole Miss, A&M and potential Mizz, Vandy, Florida, Tennesee games

We get Tre and Davis I'm good. We do need more corners tho imo, We have Mincy coming back. A hurt Jonthan Jones, TJ Davis hasn't done anything. I'm a believer in Melton but still.

From my understanding he is being shuffled around at different positions and is only a RS Fr. Give him time

Trent Thompson seemed to enjoy his visit this past weekend. As I already pointed out over the past few months, he has been very impressed with Auburn so far and we are definitely a bigger player than people give us credit for. He has visited us a lot and we are the closest distance school that made his top 5

He said this in a post visit interview

quote:

"I want my options and I still want to keep meeting coaches," he said. "I'm trying to try and make it to the league. Whatever school catches my eye the most is where I am going to be. My mom wants me to stay close to home and she's a big part of it."

I haven't been able to rewatch the game and analyzing the game from the student section is near impossible.

I like TJ Davis and think he will be a solid contributor. Just saying that I remember him being a safety converted to CB this year and he is young. Anything other than rotational playing time right now is a bonus considering we have a decent rotation

Yea, it will take him time. I saw in on ST and clean up duty, and he looked good. Definitely fast.

Thanks for responding E, should I get my hopes up regarding Raekwon McMillan. Couldnt we just send him tape of Holland and say, "see how much we need you?"
quote:

"I may go to Auburn-Mississippi State," McMillan told the Atlanta Journal Constitution in a report late Monday night. "But if I don't go there, I'll go to Georgia-LSU on Sept. 28."

Trent Thompson also seems to be decently close with Montravious Adams who went to High School about an hour away. I'd imagine when the time comes Montravious will be his host.

Also, I hear that Nick Ruffin is becoming one of the big names as a committed player recruiting. Told that he is considered one of coolest and well liked of the commitments. We hear about Tre and Deshaun but Ruffin seems to be up there as a big assett to the staff in terms of recruiting

That's very intriguing. That will be Kwon's second visit in the past couple of months to a school that supposedly not a finalist for him. And in case anyone is wonderin, he would be a take no matter what the numbers are.

That's very nice given his connections to recruits in Georgia.

In today's college game I agree. As it turns out Foster landed at the best place for him...in a 3-4 D that will allow him to use his strengths in run stuffing and blitzing as a Mike or Buck LB.

I believe Foster would have done well in our Mike role as well. Run stuffing and blitzing seems to be a pretty common role for that position as well. Slightly more coverage responsibilities but nothing too much

I like Evans as an eventual pro prospect more than Foster though but depends on what LB spot you want to put them at for me to say which one I would like better
