People on Das Boonker are throwing around the idea that Reuben Foster was playing Auburn from the beginning and that his tattoo was the REC's way of getting our hopes up to crush them.

Are they crazy?

Sounds like something a sane person would agree to do. Yes they're crazy.

Seriously, that is incredibly paranoid. I mean the thought has passed through my mind but to give it any more than a passsing moment is crazy

Well, it was more along the lines of "Have him commit to AU while he's living in Auburn to keep everyone off his back, then have him flip back at the last minute"

The tattoo is what made me think that was a hoax. Even Bama fans know that a tattoo is not cheap or easy to get rid of on top of the time it takes.

Talk to Rebuen Foster for 5 minutes and you know that is not true. He does not have ability to long term plan like that. I swear he is mildly retarded. I mean the man misspelled his cousin's name on his "fixing" of the Auburn tattoo.

Clearly that isn't true but the paranoid people on the bunker seem to think there is a possibility

What was clear to me about Reuben is that he clanged to strong male figures that came into his life. He so wanted a man to lead him and mentor him that he was easily influenced. That is why when his HS coach was fired he lashed out. That is also why his world was jilted when TT was fired, and he backed off. I truly believe he was conflicted, but ended with his original choice because of his friendships with some of the recruits going there. I won't comment to his lack of intelligence because I have no idea. Yes he made dumb choices, but so did I at that age.

The only thing I don't understand about RF is how recruits gravitated towards him. Every interview with him was hard to listen to because he speech impediment (only thing I can think of since I could not understand what he was saying). I would have have loved for him to go to AU but I am glad we didn't have to hire a speech therapist for hwne he had interviews

I agree, my captain crunch decoder ring broke trying to decipher some of his statements.

He does not have a speech impediment, he is just that dumb. Imagine reading something he writes. Its probably like reading word salad.

I was joking about the speech impediment. There is a pile of bricks in my parents backyard that could score higher on an IQ test than him. He makes Junior Rosegreen look like a Nobel Prize winner

On 2014 recruiting, I hate hearing about all these offers and what not. Hard to discern who has commitable offers and who doesn't. What guys are top on our board too. I have a friend who so far has made it through the house cleaning, can't wait to run into him and find out some good info

Thats why I do not even worry about recruiting until around Big Cat weekend (I hope Gus changes that name.) That is when we know who the top target are usually.

We do need a name for the weekend which makes it more special than other weekends.

I also do know that the next big recruiting weekend is March 30th for those interested.

BCW is usually when we find otu who the top 5-7 targets for teh class are but end of summer camps is when we find out top for each position and recruiting gets fun again. I just hope that we lock them in early again like last year since we probably won't lose our coaching staff

@WarBlogle: Due purely to Bama fan head coaches. WE @TrueBlueAU Unless I'm missing someone, Auburn hasn't had a player from Prattville, AL since 2008.

Actually its been longer than that. Like 2003 or 2004

Yes

No doubt we seem to get played by someone every year, but Foster wasn't one of them. He was "All In" with Trooper U until he got the boot.

The only reason we lost Foster and Liner was Trooper Taylor. They were both coming here if he had stayed. They were at the athletic complex ALL THE TIME with him.

He got fired. End of story.

And why nobody else has hired Troop yet is beyond me.

Exactly... it's not some grand consiperacy... we went 3-9 and fired all our coaches, including the ones who recruited Foster. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see how he ended back up at Bama, considering he was committed at one time and grew up a bama fan... oh yeah, and they've won back to back NCs.

I guess sometimes making up a consipiracy is easier than dealing with reality.
