They would have taken Adams. That is it.

Because regardless of what AU fans want to believe, we do not beat Saban for many players. And when we do, they are bust.

Well with this attitude I would see why. Do they beat us for a lot of players? Yes. But conceding a recruit just because Saban is going after him is ridiculous.

They wouldn't take Lawson? Why the hell not?

Alabama wasn't after Carl Lawson. They were never in the picture.

Stop being a fricktard. They were going to take Deon Johnson before the whole rape accusation thing. Smith is a better player than Deon Johnson.

If JSmith embraces his inner (and outer) receiver willingly, dude is going to be something good.

And don't think if Lawson had shown them interest it wouldn't have been reciprocated.

Why do u comment about shite when u have no clue what youre talking about... Smith visited Tuscaloosa at least once and had an offer at one time. He even had an AU shite on when he visited and was asked to change it. The kid was coming to Auburn regardless.

Having an offer means nothing nowadays unless they will let you commit on the spot. Jason Smith was never a high value target of Alabama and if they seriously pursued him it would have been interesting to see how it played out

Why're you so upset? JSmith is going to be really good and he had a bama offer. Facts. That was the topic: who did bama want that we got. That and all the pussies who whine and cower whenever they give an offer to one of our prospects. I'm sorry if you identify with that description.

It's pretty sad what you try to accomplish here as a poster.

And why should I care what you think is sad?

Same reason UGa didn't go after Lawson: he doesn't project well in a 3-4 scheme

You do care what everyone thinks, which is why you try so hard to be the dick. That is exactly what you strive for. Hence why you said thank you for being called an a-hole. You feel you achieved something. Strange kid you are.

If Carl Lawson wants to come to your school, you get him. You can find a spot on the field for him.

Or you find the best players that fit your system. That's why anyone expecting us to sign 4 linebackers this coming year is going to be disappointed.

LB is not a true "need" position in the 4-2-5 D. Ellis said he expects us to only sign 2, maybe 3.

Carl Lawson is not a 3-4 DE, and I don't think he has the skills yet to succeed as a OLB in a 3-4. He projects much better as a player in a 4 Man Front, hence why UGa and Bama weren't after him that much.

I actually doubt Auburn and bama will be battling a ton over kids for the next few seasons. Bama runs a pro style offense and a 3-4 defense. We run a no huddle spread and a 4-2-5 defense. Those call for 2 different sets of personnel which means we are going to have kids higher and lower on our lists than bama will. I'm not saying we won't ever go head to head, I just think gauging whether or not bama offered our recruits is not a solid strategy for measuring our talent.

I thought it was interesting listening to that EJ interview the other day him mentioning the need for physical safeties. I think we will take 3 LBs this class just because of the talent pool available but I wouldn't be shocked to see sign only 2 and us snag 4 safeties.

I have no doubt that he already has the skills to succeed as a 34 outside linebacker. Courtney UpShaw played with his hand on the ground more often than not, and Carl Lawson could've been put in the same situation if he wasn't ready for an overload on assignments. He would definitely be in on every passing down.

Carl Lawson at this stage is athletically superior to Courtney Upshaw when he was coming out of high school.
