They can only take so many players and if they feel like a RB from Fla or Illinois or wherever, is better than one on Alabama, and they feel like they have a legit chance with them, they're not gonna go after the in state guy just to go after the in state guy.

The fact of the matter is Bama is at a point now that they don't need to get a ton of in-state guys, even if they are high profile. They can get equally good talent from anywhere they want, if in the off chance they don't, they are confident enough that they can come in late with the in-state guys and swing them. They're a machine right now

I knew you would be coming along after I read that last night.

Like a moth to a flame right? I don't mind the Saban talk, but man can we keep the knob scobbing out of the 'cruitin thread?

I just posted an update on Jordan Sims on the SEC Rant Recruiting Board.
Interesting news.
Interesting news.

What exactly is the news?
Posted on 6/15/13 at 6:19 pm to Chizzin ain't Easy
Joshua Casher turned down a chance to participate in Alabama's OL/DL camp.
Could be because of his recent turf toe injury, but goos news nonetheless.

That is goos news.
re Sims, it might be that he too, I believe, did not go to bama's camp. Good indicator if true.

You're asking about Sims, right, E? All the crystal ball movement today ... I read about Sims on another board, but it's not verified, which is why I'm equivocating somewhat.

quote:Yes, cool, and thanks. One of the BOL guys said he flipped his pick because the Bama coaches want him to lose weight and perform for them before they really offer.

ESPN had something up about Sims and how he would not be going to the OL/DL thing at Bama because he is trying to lose weight first but he is thiking about attending one of those in July at Bama.
Also, Simms said in the article that Bama hasn't been keeping in touch with him at all and that relationship is fizziling but he is going to try and get it back.
For the OT position, I really hope we find some big athletic TE who can project well at OT. Lots of schools seem to be having a lot of success with that route

Think BMatthews' "scoop" is covered here or is it something else. Got to be the camp no-show or the relationship, etc., with bama, right? I mean the kid hasn't done himself any favors this spring, and has really fallen off. I don't see too much drama surrounding him now.

Visited today and got offered.
Lamont Simmons
Looks like he covers well and he will tackle.

Sounds like he let himself become a fatass, the fatass affected his play and now teams don't want to hang out with him anymore I mean I read somewhere that he gained 20+ pounds or something and he is just now working it off.
I'd imagine that if he gets himself back into shape, he will be the same quality prospect that he used to be.

Sim's recruitment reminds me of the OL from Auburn High from a year or two ago (peters or something like that)... He was hot shite his junior year, but fell of the map as a senior. I think he ended up at southern miss.
OL recruiting is such a crap shoot, and a lot can change over the course of 10 months.
