Not as many teams have depth charts as stacked as Bama either which would imply not as many players are buried and won't see the light of day. Ergo, less people want to transfer.

Going back to the original argument though, there has pretty much never been a player they have recruited solely so we wouldn't have him. Pretty much every time AU fans claim this, it is actually a very highly rated and regarded recruit who just happens to fail then in retrospect AU fans make claims.

If a player is so effing good that we would want him badly at AU, he probably is good enough to be a take for Bama, regardless of AU wanting him.

Not like they are poaching our low 3 star players.

Stop being a moron and go back to AUFamily where you can post your "the turds" "the midget $atan" or some other stupid putdown. That place encourages that behavior and I don't have a problem with it being there as long as it stays. This is not that board.

Give the rivalary more respect, it will mean more to you and if enough people do it, it will mean more to all those interested in it. Claiming that they are conspiring to put us down and doing anything unethical tarnishes this great rivalry we have. It also makes people feel more sympathetic to engaging in that behaviour on our end

Recruiting related, a number of prospects are coming in tomorrow. Do we just have a camp or are we hosting some players?

It is pointless to argue why Saban does what he does or what he is thinking cause only he knows. Also if Bama is so stacked that players transfer, bringing in more ahead of them transferring just creates even more of a cluster problem and Saban is not telling the recruits this. He just cycles through them.

The original point was that recruits begging for attention from bama needs to stop and look at what Saban has done to so many before and how many 4 and 5 star talent he has pushed aside and wasted from someone new. That is why everyone refers to him running things like a business and so well known for processing.

But we are filling up the thread about our recruits with Saban's ways. If we are good enough this year things start to go in our favor no matter what he does.

why Saban does what he does

So you are telling me that if you had kids who were not performing on the field/were busts and had the opportunity to replace them with 22-25 of the best HS players in the country, you wouldn't take it?

For a lot of the guys, he probably tells them that tehy will likely never play at Alabama and uses his connections to help them transfer to other schools where their dream of being a player in D1 can come true.

I wish were able to do what Saban does.

Now why do kids not see through this? When you are the best kid to ever walk on the playing field your entire life, people have told you just how good you are your entire life, and recruitin services validate this, you will truly believe that no one is better than you.

They understand there will be busts but they just believe "nah man that is just going to be some other guy I am going to be a star on a NC winning team" and this belief comes from being fed that they are that good their entire lives

What the hell is all this ruckus? Look in my opinion of course I think Saban wants to dominate Auburn. He said as much. It just makes it easier to do so when they are winning NC's and we are just hoping to throw a first down. Is it all sinister and REC like? I don't have time to bother with finding out nor do I care.

Our program just needs to start winning, and a coach that brings back that bad arse defense and swag. By the way, I don't know if we'll ever have a 2004 style defense, but as long as they hit hard and play hard I'm good with that. The recruiting will take care of itself. Recruiting is still good under the circumstances.

I am on my phone and no glasses so if am totally off base and missed the point of your discussion frick off. I still made a good point anyway.

Having a camp through wednesday. That's why 4* receivers like Cam Sims and Travis Rudolph are here now.

Per JH Brandon Harris is scheduled to be in Auburn next Wednesday.

Actually it is extremely high and absolutely has to be the highest in the nation of any college team the past 4 years. They oversign between 8-12 and cut 8-12 each year. No one else is even close to that consistantly. So, yes, their ratio of players processed or cut is extremely high and higher than any other school since saban got there.

How DARE you bring up your "stupid Auburn talking points" in this forum, sir!

In this...

Ummm...

(Auburn forum.)

P.S. Reminds me of the movie 'Dr. Strangelove'... "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

any chance we could ever get a recruiting thread that is an aggregator of information, and then leave this one for the guys who really want to disect everything. Would be nice to pop in and get only the updates.

I will attempt to get this train back on track with a nugget from Hoke I posted last night. Brandon Harris plans to visit Auburn next Wednesday.

What seems to be our realistic choices at QB? Harris, Watson, not take one and wait until next year?

JMO, but I think this will be a LSU/AU battle (with the A&M commit). Edge to LSU right now.

If it is down to AU, LSU and Bama i FIRMLY believe we land him. We're easily the best fit for him out of those 3 schools. Gus' track record with QBs is easily better than Bammer's OCs. And Cam Cameron's offense just isn't the BEST fit for him.

The coaches plan to take 1 this year and every year even if we miss on Watson and Harris.
