Carl Lawson is up to 265, Peyton Barber is 212, and they'll both enroll in June. Some quotes from their coach:
quote:

“I know Carl will start. It will be a big, big surprise if he doesn’t,” DeCristofaro said. “I just know how Carl is. He wants to play and be a part of it right away and I’m sure he will be.
quote:

“In the two years that he’s been here, he’s never missed a day of weight lifting or running or whatever we did. Not only that, but it’s his competitive level that I think separates him from everybody,” he said. “We would do these one-man tug-of-wars and he could beat everybody on our team so he would go against two guys. He’s always one of those guys that wants to up the ante.”
quote:

“Both of them bench press 400 pounds and clean well over 300 and squat over 500.”

I know there was some questions on Barber's eligibility... that's good news if he's all set up for June.

Realistically, what kind of a chance does Lawson have of starting?

Besides Dee Ford, I haven't really seen anyone that would start in front of him. I think he'll at least be competing for the job in fall.

I think Lawson will start quickly but not against Wazzu.

I dont even think Clowney started the first game.

He did according to his bio.

I'm thinking against one of the MS schools. Western Carolina at the latest (barring something unforeseen)

I would start him against MSU. LEt him get used to the atmostphere of a big stadium the first two games but he needs to be starting before he goes to Tiger Stadium.

I don't know a ton about MSU's team this year, but I haven't heard them grindin' for their OL so it must be pretty average. It looks like the most logical game for him to start.

I wish the UT game was earlier so we could start him there

Maybe by then he can go HAM and get like 3 sacks on his way to the freshman SEC sack record.

Wazzu was last in the NCAA in sacks allowed with 57...maybe he should get some good PT against prob the weakest line he will face all season.

With 4 of their 5 OL being walk ons Carl should be in there on every second and third and long plays.

I see him starting game 1. He's just better than anyone we have, outside of Dee Ford, and he's physically ready. Leach is obviously air raid, so I see him starting due to his pass rushing

Jeremy Johnson is up to 230lbs and has been working out with Quan Bray and other wr's, but Bray was mentioned by name.
