Where did he go to juco? He is out of state so he could get boned on tuition if we don't find some creative ways to pay for him

Also he is stuck in juco if he doesn't accept this offer so I think it is obvious he does so as to not damage his eligibility

assuming he can afford OOS tuition and to board himself.

if this is true, i highly doubt he comes back to AU as a walkon.

What are the rules on how many hours you have to be enrolled in? I know Matt Leinart only took a ball room dancing class or something his last year. I'm sure there are some clever ways around this if he only takes a few credit hours and rooms with some buddies

ETA: Super tempted to troll UGA and say they don't deserve to be included in the Big 6 since they have horrible SEC CG showings and have never been to a NCG

Yeah... I was more or less taking about how swoll he is. Vernon is the most ripped TE I've ever seen play his position.

Don't get your hopes up, pretty much.

Still recruiting him, but the staff doesn't expect him to flip...

Per both AUC and AUR if he comes back it will be as a walk on. All indications are he would excitedly take that offer.

Per the NCAA:

In Division I, student-athletes must complete 40 percent of the coursework required for a degree by the end of their second year. They must complete 60 percent by the end of their third year and 80 percent by the end of their fourth year. Student-athletes are allowed five years to graduate while receiving athletically related financial aid. All Division I student-athletes must earn at least six credit hours each term to be eligible for the following term and must meet minimum grade-point average requirements that are related to an institution’s own GPA standards for graduation.

I believe in addition to that you must keep a GPA above 2.0 as well.

Lots of credit hours can be completed from JUCO so I don't see that as hard to attain in terms of progress.

OOS 6 Credit Hours is about $7000

There's def. ways around it if you can't afford it. Maurice Clarrett took like 4 credit hours one semester at tOSU.

There are a ton of ways around it but probably not that easy. I don't think picking up the tab will be as difficult as it would be for your normal non athletic freak students

I just can't wait for Sticky Ricky being our next pile moving blocker

That wouldn't be allowed for a student-athlete. You aren't allowed to tap into academic scholarship money unless that said student has the grade requirements to back it up. It becomes complicated when you're trying to add academic scholarship in without getting charged for the use of athletic scholarship.

Totally different scenario. Clarrett under these rules would've been required to take an extra couple of classes in another semester and as a freshman (didn't play after frosh year) it wouldn't hurt you. Parks will be coming in under a different requirement and standard

Someone asked JHoke about Braden Smith, the OL from KS that reached out to Auburn and he clearly had no idea who he was. Referred to him as a JUCO OL which is not true
