I think he's just trying to take some pressure off of his son. Would I rather have him keep quiet? Yes. Do I blame him for talking? Nah.

Alan Evans stated that if he were to pick Alabama that they definitely aren't announcing at the school b/c of the reaction they believe he would receive. So it'll be interesting to see how that unfolds

Agreed. He (and a lot of parents) try to take pressure off their kid by being out front. It makes them come off as spotlight hungry sometimes, but that's not always the case.
