If they get their sh*t together at prep school (like Jaquay Williams), then they can re-sign in Jan and not hurt you signing class.

So once they sign the LOI, they dont have the option of going to another school once they're eligible? And if not, is that considered a scholarship loss or can you backcount?

They can sign to another school if they don't qualify. It's a lost scholly if they choose to go somewhere else, no back counting. With the 25 rule signing a guy who won't qualify is dumb unless you know he can get qualified by the spring semester.

If they didn't have the option, Jaquay wouldn't be at TAMU right now... from what I understand, had JW enrolled at Auburn in Jan, we wouldn't have taken up an additional scholarship... just the original one he accepted the previous year.

In other words, he wouldn't have counted twice.

Maybe I missed it because I don't track this thread very well, but some guy on the SCErB claims Golson said this morning it was between AU and FSU.

Can anyone confirm?

You mean Ole Miss/FSU?

I saw that too. Not sure how accurate it is.

It's between Auburn and FSU, straight from his mouth this morning.

Well, he hasn't officially visited yet and absolutely raved about his Ole Miss visit... and this week we've heard reports that he won't visit AU, wants to go out of state, and is down to OM/FSU....

I don't believe it, personally... or the guy could've been mistaken.... or it's third-hand info that got twisted, etc.

That is why I was looking for some confirmation. Last I heard it was OM or FSU with us trying to secure a visit.

This was new information and I was hoping to get some validation.

I went through a few pages of his post history hoping to find some evidence the guy lives in the prattville area.... didn't see anything.

It's interesting info, but I sorta doubt it... if he visits, then we'll see.

How about this one from the LSU Recruiting Board:

I talked to a tackle who played against him in all star game; Herron definitely lived up to the hype.

Sounds like he may know Golson personally.

you're a better TD detective than I am...

FSU continues to be the common denominator, though... and he's been committed for a year now. FSU is also in desperate need of OLs.

Yep, but, if true, it is a step up from the status we thought we had. DC was his primary recruiter at FSU, so I feel like we have a decent chance now whereas before I thought it was an extreme longshot.

The Alexander recruitment reminds me of the Arik Armstead drama from last year. If his brother would have been able to enroll at Auburn, Arik would be here. Seems like they will end up at whatever school is able to sign both and they dont really care where that is

What really sucks is that the brother Armond just signed a contract with the New England Patriots. So we could have at least had one decent DL on the team last season if we had gotten him.

This is correct. Seems to be a very tough decision; I'm surprised bc he used to be very big on FSU.
Sounds like we have a chance with Golson. See nothing from this posters history that would indicate he would just randomly troll regarding Golson.

agreed. FSU has lost six coaches this offseason, but kept their OL coach Trickett. If I had to bet, my money's on FSU to keep him... but we'll see.

According to a few that have played for him this may work in our favor.

Might be because UF is concerned about grades too.
