Auburn still has some work to do with Barber but I think he will officially visit the last weekend, which would be big.

He's doing work, but I don't see it really helping Auburn. It certainly won't hurt, but he seems pretty solid to Mississippi State. If we could somehow land him, though...

I'm starting to think Ole Miss has a better recruiting class than us which is putting me in pre-meltdown mode.

Can this really happen? Where are we projected to finish in the SEC?

Holy shitstorm batman. If we wrangled Chris Jones from MSU, they would burn the whole town of Auburn down to the ground. They still hate us for Cam.

Yes, but it just seems like the entire landscape of the SEC is changing. aTm, Ole Miss, and Vandy are making a strong push while the top tier programs are pretty entrenched so where does that leave Auburn?

We missed on key recruits last year and this year is looking kinda familiar? How far and how long will we be playing catch-up?

2012 Ole Miss performed better than anyone's expectations.

2012 Auburn may have met the lowest expectations of the worst category of updyke.

The fact that they may (*may*) outrecruit us this ONE year is not a big shock.

It's just one year and one recruiting class so even if we finish 25thish it's not going to kill us. It would make next years recruiting class much more important if we miss out at a few positions of need but we can sign a few JC's the next few years to fill the gap. The last thing that I'm worried about is this staffs ability to recruit and tbh how many of these non JC kids really have a chance to play major minutes next year anyway. We've got talent and we're going to continue to get talent. We just have to coach'em up and make men out of them.

But if we have another down year then how realistic is it to expect to be recruiting better players next year? It's kinda like a snowball effect, is how I'm looking at it

I started a thread on the main board to discuss this more instead of derailing this thread for several pages

Just notice on Scout that Jordan Wilkins is scheduled to visit the last weekend. Is this new?

I don't understand what you huge have against Jordan wilkins. The kid can run the ball and would he a great inside runner for malzahn's offense. I'm gonna be dissapointed if we just let him go. The kid is a 4 star for a reason and isn't much less talented than derrick green.
