That's why I didn't know if you were just assuming or going off info. And I still don't. Damn you.

No I don't have specific info, just rumors as always. And no, when X player quits before spring practices I wont go quote myself in attempt for ASB fame

I hadn't considered attrition into this season's recruiting numbers. We may very well over sign Bammer style.

Yeah but the circumstances are a little different than what Alabama has done over Saban's tenure.

Not going to say I disagree with what Saban does and the morals that may or may not correspond to his attrition at Alabama. But he does what is in the best interest of winning and it works. Wouldn't mind seeing that at Auburn.

I thought over signing was a thing of the past with the new 25 signee cap in place by the SEC

Apparently there are ways around it. Look at A&M's class

Technically, A&M's class of 2013 will have 25 signees. You can still count back to fill your last class up to 25 if they graduate early.

But does the counting-back/EE thing end this year, or can schools continue to do it in future classes?

ETA: By ending I mean will the 25 cap included the EE.

Not sure exactly what you are asking other than does it end after this year like many people believed...No. I will try to state the new rules as best I can. Every school can sign up to 25 players in each class. If the school does not reach the 25 limit, then they can count EEs from the next January to that class to fill up to 25, The rest then are counted in the next class. For example, UGA has 18 EEs. 9 will count to 2012 and 9 to 2013 because they count 16 from the 2012 class. This next part is what has taken the biggest hit in teams that truly oversign. Under the old rules teams could count EEs in place of players that signed in the previous class but did not qualify or withdrew before their freshman football season started. That is not the case anymore. EEs can no longer take the place of players who did not qualify. Auburn signed 22 in 2012. (Transfers count now in signing limits so Prosh counts.) Under the old rules Auburn could have had 7 EEs count back to 2012 with the loses of JaQuay, J-Rob, Hutch, and Zeke. Under the new rules we basically squandered those spots. The only spot that could have not been squandered is JaQuay's. To retain your spot if you signed in a previous class you must finish Prep school and enroll in the next January like JaQuay would have done. The moral of the new signing rules is if you sign them you better be able to get them in by no later than January or you lose those spots...As for TAMU they signed 19 in 2012 so they can sign 31 in 2013 with 6 of their EEs counting back to 2012. They have 34 commits so 3 of those will have to go somewhere else or pay their own way til January of 2014 so they can then be put on scholly and count to the 2014 class.

On a sidenote, it's good seeing you become more of a regular over here. Is the Family becoming unbearable, or are you just splitting up your time?

Are the departures major contributors or guys that are highly talented Jones?

Also someone posted this on Das Boonker. Even if it is clearly not reliable at this time I will take all the positive news I can get.

ETA: This is about Tashawn Bower btwz

A good friend of mine is a Garnet and Gold guide at FSU and was amongst the guides hosting official visitors this weekend. She knows i am a huge Auburn fan so when we hung out earlier tonight she mentioned to me that he is "obsessed" with Auburn. While on his visit he talked about Auburn several times and brought us up with any opportunity. No specific quotes were mentioned but it seems that even while at FSU his attention was with Auburn. Definitely cant be a bad sign for the chances of him sticking with us.

I have actually tried to post over here for 2 years but did not have an email TD would accept. I basically split my time because after AE merged with AUF summing premium content can no longer be posted over there so I post that stuff over here. Also, what does Ti;Dr mean?

We're pretty lazy so unless its really important, people aren't going to read a wall of text. But it was a good explanation. Thanks

Please forgive my misinformed efforts to provide information on a topic being currently discussed on this page of the thread. The loss of e-cred will be absolutely devestating to me
