We needed an experienced OG with the loss of Westerman & Sullen.

BM has said that Danzey hasn't committed to us yet.

This class is pretty dumfounding so far. Gus and Johnson basically came in and took a dump on the whole class. It they are legitimately letting these kids go to weed them out, there are some hugely differing opinions on the talent that needs to be at Auburn.

I am more interested to see the coaching staff in a couple weeks when the NFL regular season wraps up, then we will get a good look at where we are heading as a team and program.

Devonte Danzey – Auburn University
Perhaps the most improved of any of the Blue Dragon offensive linemen, Devonte Danzey helped pave the way for one of the most prolific offenses in team history in 2012.

A 6-3, 303-pound redshirt freshmen from Fort Myers, Fla., Danzey is the first Blue Dragon to sign with Auburn since quarterback Chris Todd in 2008.

Danzey was a starting offensive tackle for a Blue Dragon offense that scored the second-most points in team history and three times broke the 700-yard mark for total offense, including 724 yards against Air Force Prep.

Danzey blocked for Terrell Lane, who broke both the Blue Dragons’ single-game rushing record (308 yards) and single-season rushing record (1,632 yards).

Hoke just said that if he is planning on signing with us tomorrow, he hasn't told us yet

Honestly, I got caught up in the star gazing the last few years but have been brought back down to earth with the whole developing that talent thing But seriously, have you guys looked at some of our offensive de-commits and the schools they are looking at? Alot of them run spread offenses and being in the SEC and knowing what CGM brings, just seems they would jump on that unless I'm just star gazing again, which is possible

OL? I thought between the last two recruiting classes we had a pretty good pool of talent there?

With Westerman leaving, our only guards are Jordan Diamond, Alex Kozan and Chad Slade. We need to find another guard for the two deep this year. We also need to find two guards to fill the two deep the year after

Will Adams, Avery Young and Patrick Miller all play tackle.

Shane Callahn plays center

Differing opinions?... Among who? I don't have any real problem with deciding to reevaluate this class. It would be a disservice to someone like lemond to bring him in knowing u don't think he's talented enough to play.

Hutchinson C.C. official Twitter account said Danzey will sign with Auburn tomorrow, but nobody at Auburn has been told that. (Per Hoke)

I'm 100% stone-cold certain that I saw Justin Hokanson post that on the Bunker.

That being said, it's a fluid situation and my buddy who's buddies with a guy on the Board of Trustees hasn't been able to confirm or deny it.

ETA: Actually, even that's a lie because when I first read it, I thought it was Tate

NEVAR

Especially because I didn't add it in until later, and even more especially because it definitely didn't say "Tate" instead of "Hoke" when I first edited.

Again..seems like the majority that are decommitting are guys that Malzahn didn't show much interest in..not the other way around..none of them are leaving the class because they don't think Malzahn can provide them a great opportunity.

The coaches made multiple calls to Hooks the last 2 days and really gotten him to think hard about Auburn. I will say this now because it looks like Auburn getting Hooks is a real possibility. (Notice I did not say it looks good to get him.) If we land him without a visit and get him through mostly phone calls then that will be a BOOM move as to what Gus can do in recruiting,

Is that legal? Dead period started Sunday at midnight. Or is the dead period just the time when you can't have any on-campus contact?

Dead periods. Silent periods. I can't keep them all straight.

Phone calls are allowed. Basically just means coaches need to frick off during the holidays.

Jucos have a different recruiting calendar than high school kids. They were in a quiet period the past 2 days which allows for phone calls. Juco dead period is the next 4 days then goes back to a quiet period.
