JHoke just had this to say

quote:

Yes, Lemond Johnson was told by Auburn he couldn't enroll early. I don't want to speculate as to why, but I'll try and have more information on that in tomorrow's War Room. Johnson is currently visiting Tennessee today, Johnson's father said it was a, "last minute decision". The rumors about Johnson having already switched his commitment are false at this time.

Thx for the update

I wish Lemond the best no matter what he decides. He doesn't deserve to be strung along at the final hour.

I really hope Gus knows what he's doing.

I'm not really sure why they are letting Lemond go, doesn't make sense. We have 12 graduating and at least 2 other scholarship players leaving the team (Westerman and Burgess) so there should be scholarship room to spare in the spring. We need a good safety and Lemond is a good prospect and a smart kid that wants to be at Auburn, what is the downside here? Even if we can't count him back, he can count in this class.

Unless we are going after better Safety prospects (which I haen't heard about) or he is committed to Thigpen it doesn't make sense.

This is going to bite us in the arse I bet

It would be ridiculous to go negative because we told one recruit he couldn't enroll early.

2014 4* DT Josh Frazier was offered by AU today.. another Frazier from Springdale, Arkansas. :)

No relation to Kiehl.

Not to mention that it's a 3 star recruit that's not even all that. If Ellis Johnson isn't that high on him and they want to use the early enrolling thing to let him go quietly why the heck would anyone get all pissed?

Not pissed and not having a meltdown but as mentioned above there are no other prospects at a position of need.

After watching our 5* & 4* players quit in October and the games played by some if the current recruits I admit to being disappointed that we're turning away character kids with solid potential on better rated possibilities. I just want more kids that actually want to play football for Auburn and are not all about self

I just wish we took Marcus Robenson who ended up at UF. That was a mistake

Agree, it's not like they pulled his offer.

He will stick with AU, if he really wants to be here.

Lemond and his father just arrived at Tennessee for an official visit. It looks likely he will flip his commitment to Tennessee after trip. According to his father, Auburn told him they didn't have room for Lemond to enroll in January.
Butch Jones' new staff at Tennessee includes cornerback coach Tommy Thigpen and safety coach Willie Martinez.

It's Robersons fault he isn't at AU.

Anyway,he would have sucked like the rest of our poor coached DB's.

I'm convinced if Dyer was better disciplined, he would've turned out fine. In terms of talent, I would take Dyer.

Yeah, Dyer was legit. Would've loved to have Lattimore, but Dyer was just as good.

Nothing you can do about kids going full retard.

No, Dyer was not just as good as Lattimore. In no way was Dyer as good as Lattimore -- at anything, on the field, in any way, or off the field at anything.

Faster. Yes, Dyer was faster. Lattimore made up his lack of speed in every other way.

There could be an argument made for on the field. It's a shame that his off the field woes will always overshadow what he accomplished at AU his freshman and sophomore year.

I agree, I think a disciplined Dyer would have been equal on the field but since that Dyer didn't exist Lattimore wins hands down
