Evans for Duke destroyed us.

Our transition D was horrible. Bama will kill us if we don’t get this worked out

Overall pretty happy with how we played. Broome and Chaney missed some shots they’ve been making all year, but that was slightly offset by our guards doing work from 3. Love seeing those performances from Kelly and Pettiford.

There’s a handful of things could’ve pushed this game in our favor.

The Evans thing is odd. He's not been playing much at all. Hit 6 three's in the first half...several of which were just absolutely wide open...and then did nothing in the 2nd half.

With him...they have 4 Freshmen playing a ton of minutes. It will be interesting to see how this team plays in the tournament. The ACC is awful so they will have a lot of time to work out their issues.

The SEC schedule is going to be brutal. Goodness.

I think we looked sluggish on defense and probably because we had a week off. Plane flight back home, travel to family for thanksgiving, travel NC to play.

If we played on a neutral court before Maui against Duke we beat them by 15

Ain’t it great. Growing up a big basketball fan and it being Kentucky and the 9 dwarfs sucked arse. Calipari had a big influence on the conference with recruiting but not sure Donovan and Bruce didn’t have a bigger impact taking UF and AU to heights unimaginable at those schools. Now look at the rest of the conference. We have about 10 teams that could be top 30ish teams

I always said that it made no sense that Auburn/Alabama/UT etc should suck at basketball. I am so happy that now we have a very healthy league and UK isn't all we hear about.

I chose Duke as a 2nd team in the mid 80's for Coach K mostly, but I also loved watching them beat UK over the years. I also love watching KU and UK lose...to anyone.

Broome surprised me with how many he missed under the basket. He's been making almost every shot under the rim this year.

I know it's been mentioned, but man, that home cooking in Cameron was real. It was a little more even in the second half, but we were getting called for touch fouls in the first. That was wild. We went on that initial run and then slowed down, but that's when they started calling everything on us, so that helped swing the momentum away. Flagg still got away with a lot on offense in the 2nd half, but when the other team is in the bonus like 10 minutes into the game, it's hard to overcome that.

Duke is long and plays excellent D. We were the best 2 point shooting team in the nation and were 6-18 in the first half. Ended up 19-39 which is well below our average.

I follow some Duke folks on Twitter and one guy said the key would be to limit us to below 50% from 2 and that happened.

Agreed. The only other team that I thought played anywhere near as good of defense was Iowa St, but Duke has multiple guys that really played well on D last night. We got our arse handed to us rebounding too.

Definitely the case in the first half but that was corrected and we wound up even on both the offensive and defensive boards for the game.

Have we gotten an explanation on the goaltending? Did we end up getting robbed of four points?

Certainly the one in the second half we got robbed. I never found a clip of the one from the first half.

I'm not sure if we are the best team in the country, but we are one of them for sure.

It was Duke's best game this year by far. They lost close games to KU and UK where the freshmen kinda fell apart at the end and the guards didn't play well.

Yeah, I kept feeling like if we could grab a late lead or even tie it after the last TV timeout we would win with our experience.. but we just couldn’t get over the hump. That lucky late shot clock three on the loose ball to make it a 5 point game was the dagger.

That one in the first half was definitely in the cylinder when Brown (I think) tipped it in.

Yeah, that three and the stupid upgrade of Cardwell's foul in the first half were killer momentum shifts for each half.
