I'll never forget the game last year he was sandbagging because he was tired. We got a steal and chunked it down to him. All alone on the other end of the court he took a few dribbles and tried to do a layup that hit the underneath of the rim.
That's when I lost all hope.
Supposedly he's up 20 or 30 pounds to 260

No one is arguing with you on this. Obviously, we want to be in a better place and even expected it when we hired Bruce/beginning of this season
Randy and you aren't adjusting expectations when major variables to our team change.
For example, while at the beginning of the year I posi barner expected AU to get to 19-20 wins, I know now with 7 scholarship players there is no way that is happening.

It does take someone watching and following to understand why it's not going well with out just blindly stating "we suck". Pearl is a great coach but you can't overcome injuries when you are in the 2nd year of building. You can call it an excuse if you want but that's just the reality of the situation

Well who is responsible then? Every team has the same situations. Everyone has turnover and injuries. I know its his second season but where are we now?
And we are not just saying "We suck". But Im amazed at how defensive some of you guys have gotten on this board over the last few years. Its like you have lost all sense of reality. Sometimes it just sucks and you have to laugh about it and move on. Not try to polish a turd.

No team inherited only 3 scholarship players with coaches unable to recruit by penalty

No surprise but Tahj is done for the season. Dr Andrews is going to try to tighten up his shoulder and he will be evaluated at a later date to see if it is possible he can return next year. Dunans had his knee scoped and there is a good chance he is done for the rest of the season as well.
I think it's time to bring in a witch doctor and see if anything can be done to get the curse lifted.

So 3/5 guys that were potential starters at the beginning of the year are basically out for good (Dunans, TSD, Purifoy)

We are out 3/5 expected starters. This is the 2nd season with only one class that is 100% his. Sure you can blame him but it's a little unreasonable to think he will have the pieces in place to handle it.

It's funny you talk about reality and then want to bust on Pearl for not winning with an injured roster in his 2nd season. Im not polishing a turd, I'm explaining what reality is and reality is we have gotten boned by injuries and NCAA this season. I don't think Pearl has done a great job getting the most out of this team in the recent weeks so if you want to say that I completely agree.

I have a world of respect for Malzahn and Pearl.
I support them both.
Which is why it is utterly shocking and disappointing to me to see teams being trotted out week after week, game after game, that (to my amateur eyes) look POORLY coached.
