New Williams is out against South Carolina also. Knee problems.

I think Lang could probably play tomorrow. I'm not worried about New being out...let him rest that knee. He didn't appear to play that much against UT. Keim actually put in some solid minutes against UT.

I truly believe we have a chance to beat USC if we can get Kareem and Bryce some chances along with solid play from Harris and Bowers. Horace and Lang getting pts would just be gravy.

Lang has about 4-5 solid looks per game. He needs to start taking advantage. He should be able to give us 6-7 PPG off those.

Horace just needs to develop. He looks so raw but so promising

If USCe goes 3 for 28 from three like the vols, we'll have a shot...

I wasn't trying to take a jab at either. Just a general statement that 8-10 ppg from the two of them would be huge. I think Spencer will be a very good player with a few more years of coaching and being as big as he is.

Tennessee also got offensive rebounds on 47% of their missed FG attempts though Tennessee almost had more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds.

Keep in mind though, as a team UTk shoots ~33% 3PT and no one with 5+ 3PA has >40%. They were obviously having a terrible game but they aren't excellent 3PT shooters

I was just commenting on your comment. I knew what you meant

I agree that 10 points from Lang/Spencer would be huge. I just think we should expect at least that much from them given opportunities

I fully expect Bowers to get a couple of flagrant fouls. No way he keeps his cool battling against Carrera all night.

Yes, I we cannot let let USC even get close to that percentage.

I don't have the bball IQ to understand what you were talking about with the 1-3-1 defense and now exploiting it to get Bryce an open look, but if it's true, I hope we keep that up against teams that think it'll work as well as in the Xavier game.

Carrera got hot headed and fouled out last year while Cim got a double-double. The key will be keeping Carrera off of just Cim.

1-3-1 tries to trap ball handler against sideline/corner with the "1" and one of the outside "3"s. With the other 3 D players they try to jump passing lanes and guard passes to paint

Essentially, off the ball it is 4 on 3 and typically open guy is one on 3pt line. It is a bet that they can't get ball too him or he'll miss if they do

Xavier/Harvard beat us because open guy bricked 3s all game. We beat Tennessee because Brown hit his 3s

And I'm sure he'll coach 4 more years. He's 70 but still looks rather young
