Probably a bit over optimistic, but here’s my prediction.

@Mizzou - W
LSU - W
@Ole Miss - L
Vandy - W
TAMU - W
@UGA - W
UK - W
@South Car - W
Bama - W
@UF - L
@Arky - W
South Car - W

10-2

Final record: 27-4
Final conference record: 15-3
Conference tourney: #2 seed
NCAA tourney: #3 seed
Really need Harper to find his groove again and for Heron to start driving with authority more. Hoping that Bryce is finally turning into the player some of us have believed he could be from the beginning.

Harper faded a bit last season too. The reality is he takes too many bad shots. He was making a lot of them early in the season, but not so much now.

I feel like Heron is going to break out soon and will be big down the stretch.

I don’t put all of this on him, because half of them were with 10s or less on the shot clock (and late in the game) when we haven’t run an offensive set effectively and we just put the ball in his hands. You’re going to have to put up some circus shots in those scenarios.

To me, the key for him is, and always has been, to attack the rim. He has the muscular build to be able to take contact, he just has to commit to it and learn to finish his takes more often. That’ll make defenders stay off him a bit more and open up his catch and shoot 3s. He has to quit with the cutesy shakes into long 2s though, because they just don’t work for him consistently enough.

They don't work for anyone

Not only does he take a lot of long two's.. they are highly contested. A highly contested long two is the worst shot in basketball.. I don't care who is shooting it (yes I'm looking at you Kobe)

We should hear how our appeal to the ruling on Wiley went tomorrow. I don't think anyone has a great deal of confidence but it is a fresh set of eyes so there is always a chance.

Just heard Jerry Palm say he has Auburn as a 3 seed.

I imagine once this decision is made, we will have a quick resolution on Purifoy right after. While NCAA says each case is unique and determined on a case by case basis, I imagine the Wiley decision ends up being the precedent/benchmark for the rest of the similar pending cases

I imagine AU chose Wiley's case because he had the best case to argue, Austin never was implicated himself, potentially less $ involved, FBI report paints Person as deliberately lying to and misleading Wiley's parents

What Auburn will likely do is immediately argue Purifoy to get a maximium punishment/suspension set the same as Austin Wiley. The "Cecil Newton Rule" change makes there no real distinction in eligibility loss when parents/family/handlers act on behalf of the student athlete

I'm curious after the final decisions by the NCAA are made, how quickly we will hear if the players plan on staying or leaving.

Typically, they are just mildly contested long 2s. The bigger problem though is he is passing up solid catch and shoot 3s for these garbage long 2s

Bruce in an interviewer said he designed a play for Mustapha flat out told him "I don’t care if it’s contested or not,” Pearl said he told Heron. “You shoot it.”

At this point, if Purifoy gets eligibility for next year, I assume he is coming back.

Wiley's decision won't be made until after the NBA combine and eval grades there
