I know it’s a joke but Trooper could recruit. May not can coach worth a damn but him and Luper change the recruiting game at AU forever

Seems like Harsin is saying now I'll sink or swim with my own guys.

Which is logical to me. Can’t take anything for granted. Harsin needs to do what he is comfortable with doing. Coaches getting forced onto each other is never a great recipe.

Flip side to that is we just laid a massive egg and then replaced an Alabama native with a another Boise State guy which isn’t going to help with recruiting regionally. So the head coach has to be cognizant of that as well.

I can’t even remember the last time AU had a good coach as the receivers coach.

Burns
Craig
Trooper

All mediocre at coaching the position

I hate to judge an adult based on how they were in HS, but based on when I knew him back in the day at Hoover that's not the biggest surprise

Anyway, people saying this was a bad hire, I think the hire was based on recruiting. Harsin came in not knowing the area or even region really, Williams is a guy with connections around the state and especially around Birmingham. He's young, Harsin probably thought he'd make a good recruiter.

He wasn't doing as good a job on that front as people would've hoped, combine that with the shitty on-field performance and it's an easy move to make

Unless we just go ham next year in recruiting and hit multiple grand slams in the portal we are fricked in ‘23 ‘’24 seasons use and Vandy will be battling it out as worst in conference. So we better be able to coach ‘em up

You can make an argument as to how good a coach he was. What you can’t argue is that the position he coached produced some pretty darned good college WRs (Adams, Zachery, Blake).

For what they are gonna kick the shite out of us anyway. And if Corn didn’t know the playbook what do they gain?

Isn't that's what all the Boise coaches were kinda known for?

There aren't any Auburn "insdiers" since Gus left. JGT is just posting clickbait.

This is bullshite. There were no "insiders" during Gus' tenure either.

Wasn’t there a play during TJ Finley’s epic comeback drive against Ga State where pre-snap he was having to wave to sidelines to even get a WR and then had to tell Newton where to line up (think it was #25)? Or am I misremembering? Fits the “WRs dont know playbook or alignments.” And we don’t know playbook either. Guess Harsin saw something on film today and said eff it.
