We all know as ballparks age they get additions and upgrades. What do you think could ever happen to TP? Or is there not enough room to change anything? It definitely needs more development around it whatever kind that is. I believe ball parks can be originally built incomplete with renovations book marked for the future. Most likely due to funding. Turner Field saw some renovations in its short life.

Probably as you said, upgrades to seating, scoreboard/videoboard, suites. I don't see them ever expanding the seating capacity.

It needs a MARTA station.

Do you think a MARTA station would’ve saved Turner Field?

It would've helped (and sadly MARTA never built its Southeast Branch due to lack of funds), but I don't think it would've been the reason for them to stay. Turner Field isn't a thing anymore because the Braves got paid by Cobb County and carte blanche to do what they wanted with the Battery.

That being said, the complex (and the Cumberland area) would tremendously benefit from a MARTA line over there.

Besides a transit option, what kind of development do you think it needs? There are hotels, bars, restaurants, shops, office buildings all around it.

Would make getting there much easier.

I don't know jack shite about Urban planning or development, but even if they somehow put a light rail from Dunwoody/Sandy Springs stations to Cumberland that would help.

So sick of people in Atlanta bitching about MARTA. Even if MARTA was the best transit system in the world people would not use it.

There’s a dirty slur for MARTA that I will not post.

They’ve begun to take out seating up to the concourses. I saw it on X yesterday; can’t find it. Looks like it will provide a better view for those standing.

Is there a place in the entire city that is not worse because of Marta access? Outside the ones that were already trash?

They do for special events and parking is obviously limited and a pain in the arse at both MCB and Truist

I’d take it. I used to take public transportation from underground Atlanta right up to the Turner Field gates. It’s just a bunch of Braves fans. I’ve also parked many times. I don’t think it would be like NYC where you have so many stops with a bunch of people not going to the game if that makes sense.

Assuming you built a line up I-75 from Arts Center, you'd have a few stops (likely Brookwood, Howell Mill, West Paces, Cumberland, then Truist).

Did they build TP with the idea of development, over years, would reach TP? I’m not from Atlanta but that makes sense.

Atlanta is developed for miles in every direction from TP.
TP is practically in town.

All due respect to a fellow Braves fan, but what on earth are you talking about

TP is pretty much the model for a well-constructed "fake" urban neighborhood for a ballpark, mimicked elsewhere, like Dallas. And unlike Dallas, it's a stone's throw from the city proper.

As someone who looks out his office window at the stadium I can assure you that the area around it is pretty much all booked up.

Atlanta stretches from the Alabama border to almost Lake Oconee in the east, to over halfway to Macon in the South to the foot of the Smokies in the north.

IOW, Atlanta is fricking huge.
