But I just disagree that they "got rid of it." I feel like we already had that in the throwbacks, and the new variants are garbage in comparison. The numbers, gradients, etc. are the opposite of the "cleaner design" I would hope for.
They kept the throwbacks in the rotation to appease folks that love the set. I love them as well.
I think the new uniforms are clean, modern, and a huge step up from what we had. Whether or not you like it, the Falcons are going to try to appeal to the new, more diverse wave of people coming into the city.
My friends who are lifelong die-hards like, but don’t love the jerseys. They wanted throwbacks all the way.
My friends who have grown up elsewhere and moved here since college and became fans absolutely love them. I think it’s a different lens.
Only thing I patently disagree with is the idea that we wanted red helmets. The black helmets are bad fricking arse, and go well with our current and throwback set. Only people I know that used to chatter about red helmets at tailgates were some old-heads from the 70s who were virtually all Georgia fans.
Again, I think outside of those red jerseys, the Falcons get a solid B+ with this set.
People gotta realize the team was never going straight throwbacks. We kept them in our rotation which is great, but, I think this new look is going to be something that grows on people quickly. Is it a home run? No. “ATL” is a bit big, and the shading on the numbers is a bit wide.
But overall? I like them. Moreover, the young, jersey buying population will get these in droves. They are a solid reflection of the city and our team, and though they aren’t perfect, they’re solid and will look great on Sunday night in front of a riled up Benz crowd.

Yea these are fricking terrible lmao. I like the combos not pictured here... white on red / black pants.., the best.

The red jersey looks like a hawks jersey with sleeves

The only uniforms the Falcons should ever wear are the 1980s home reds and the Dirty Bird era home/away. As much as I hate the current red/red color rush uniforms, they're a much better color rush solution than those horrid gradient jerseys.

Yes the ATL thing is trashy.Who even uses the term anymore?
Not people who live here.
"the ATL" and "hotlanta" only seem to be used by idiots who aren't from here or who don't live here.
I liken it to idiots who say NOLA or New Or-leeeeeeens

Okay so the uniforms were leaked this morning.Have you taken a formal poll of all these people? I saw a FB post about this new "look" and about 90% of the responses were negative.

Garbage.Ive hated em since they came out in the 90's.You can barley see the logo on the black helmets and it's one of the most distinctive logos in the NFL.
Look how popular the throwback Rams uniforms were last year and now they're getting crushed on social media for their
new logo and fans aren't looking forward
to their reveal. LINK
Sorry, who even uses the term ATL more?
Mostly people who don't live here... horrible.

What I do like:
1) Falcon logo on the sleeve with no unnecessary design around it.
2) No unnecessary stripes/piping anywhere else on the uniform other than a pretty clean looking stripe down the side.
3) Return of the black jersey. I grew up in the 90s with the standard black jersey. That should be the primary home jersey.
4) Gray face mask
Dislikes:
1) number font
2) ATL
3) Gradient on Grady
4) Black pants. Never been a fan of this look for any team. Would prefer black jersey/white pants, white jersey white pants, white jersey red pants, and red jersey white pants.

Agree on all dislikes.

Take away the idiotic and terrible looking "ATL" and the number font design and these would have been quite nice.
Posted on 4/8/20 at 3:26 pm to ATLabama
A few changes and these would be ok imo:
- Oversized helmet logo and grey face mask (doesn't fit)
- Make the ATL and numbers smaller
- Make the stripes more traditional
- Kill the gradients with fire

Shoulda went back to the old Grits Blitz days. Red jerseys with black and grey stripes, grey pants with rid and white stripes...Red helmet.
I hate the Falcons but those uniforms were definitely nice.

Arena Football League looking shite, save for the throwback.

At the end of the day, if we win in them, we’ll love ‘em.
Our set for the last 17 years was the worst in franchise history. Save for the color rush jerseys, I think this will grow on fans.
People don’t like change. Moreover, people who obsess about “tradition” like SEC football fans hate it. Things and ideas move slow in the south. I remember in 2006, Alabama put a small, houndstooth collar on the uniforms and I thought every grey haired man from Tuscaloosa to Muscle Shoals was going to have a heart attack.
I love the new helmets, and I like the sleek, contemporary look of white on white and black on black. The “ATL” is a bit large, and the font is a bit weird, but, these seem like the same complaints when the Broncos rolled out their jerseys in 1997, when the Patriots rolled out their new digs in 2001, the Chargers in 1994, Seahawks in 2012... people just like to bitch and don’t like to rock the boat, in general.
The gradient jerseys are indeed weird from the outset, but if people remember those late 90s Hawks jerseys.... the Mutumbo and Steve Smith throwbacks are the best selling throwbacks in the Hawks merch department.
There is no weird stripes, the jerseys aren’t busy. They are different. I think they’ll grow on everyone here, especially when seen in action.
The players and city artists had the most “say-so” in the design. If they like them, then it looks like it speaks to someone.

I dunno. Hypothetically, if we were to win a SB with these; I'd vote we keep them forever.

So leave the uniform design up to players and "artists?"
You gotta be freakin kidding me.
Can you imagine what the Cowboys,Steelers,49ers,Redskins, Chiefs,Bears or Raiders uniforms would look like?
Nah,these are officially the worst uniforms in the NFL.Maybe Jacksonville has a worse uniform but that's because their color scheme is so weird.
BTW,frick the NBA.
