I don't care what color the new GM is, as long as no stone gets unturned. It seems like Blank is eliminating over half of the candidate pool based on nothing but skin color.

Maybe he really wants the draft picks that come with it.

If you think that this man is going to tank his highest asset, and forgo seeing his team win a super bowl in the waning years of life based on race... there’s no help for you. You stand right in line with our African Americans within the fanbase who clamor for a black QB because he’s black.

Erase any thought that this is the case. This isn’t Kirby Smart running Fields out of Athens. This is a multi-billion dollar business run by one of the most successful men in the world. The gap in organizational talent and resources is planets wide.

They’ll go with the best, regardless of skin color.

Kirby didn't run Fields out of Athens because he's black. That is astronomically stupid.

Yeah that is just ignorant.

Well I was giving him benefit of the doubt as a football coach, because anyone with eyes could see he’s 10000x times better than anyone in that QB room.

Shoot, even a simpleton like Dabo could figure out Lawrence over Kelly Bryant, who also took his team to the playoffs the year prior.

He fricked that situation up, but it wasn't because of skin color. It's because he mistakenly went with the game manager who didn't turn the ball over instead of the playmaker.

Did Dabo run off Kelly Bryant because he was black?

At least two NFL teams have reached out to Urban Meyer to see whether the former Ohio State coach would be interested in interviewing for -- if not accepting -- a head coaching job at the next level, league sources tell ESPN.

Meyer, according to a source connected to one of those teams, did not dismiss the overtures and is considering whether to make the jump to the NFL. He intends to make a decision in the next week, before the NFL regular season is over, and teams are expecting to hear his decision in the coming days.

Meyer talks to 2 NFL teams. Schefter.

Wouldn't be shocked if the Falcons are one of those two teams. That move is right up Blank's alley.

And it would be a colossal mistake.

So do y’all think the Jets pass on Wilson? I’ve seen different things, but most seem to think it’s Lawrence to the Jags, Wilson to the Jets.

Interesting. I think you take Fields then, right? I'm not sold on him being the savior day one but we don't need that right now. Matt Ryan would be able to teach him so much about pre-snap.

Not sure. I had seen a couple of predictions of us taking a CB out of VT. I’m with others here that don’t feel Fields has it between the ears to actually succeed in the NFL. He’s struggled mightily against competent collegiate defenses and I don’t see getting a replacement for Ryan that’s not a home run.

And then there’s this:

Fields predicted to Jets, Falcons with Gregory Rousseau out of Miami.

That seems underwhelming. They have Wilson dropping to 16, likely due to the “character issues” that were just reported.

Oh, fantastic. An overrated pass rusher who quit on his college team.

Hard pass.

The Atlanta media is starting to run w/the idea that Meyer should be the Falcons coach. Part of me wants to see them do it, b/c that is the type of move that Blank would be dumb enough to make. He only cares about the flash and not actually the important things. And a lot of this fanbase is the same way. If it ain't flashy, it ain't worth it. And Meyer would be flashy.

I want to see them do it. Just to watch the trainwreck that it would be. Urban is not a pro coach.

I could see Meyer doing well early and then his style wearing thin fast. I think people say Meyer isn't a pro coach because of the talent gap his teams always have in college, but he also has a tendency to win very quickly using the previous regime's players too.

Meyer definitely does have the hardass mentality that this team needs at the top right now. He's a major flight risk too though; he has a history of bolting at the first sign of adversity.

Meyer wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't hate it. He has shown a good ability to adjust his schemes to match personnel, which is a grossly underrated part of coaching at the NFL level.

I said exactly this but he’s tempting if available. Or maybe someone would be willing to trade up to nab him.
