He blocked the guy with his helmet, so that's got to be what it is.

Dumb way to block unless he just slipped.

That was a shitty defensive possession. Three bonehead screw ups on drive 1 is not a good sign.

Lotta injuries early.

That #12 guy for the green and gold team is pretty good.

Who has a better punter/kicker combo than the Falcons? Have to be the best duo in NFL

Bosher is the man.

Ryan's clearly not comfortable with some of the stuff Sarkisian is trying to run.

Defense better step up or we may lose by 40

First drive's almost always on a script. The sign of a great offense is what happens after the game starts evolving.

Could be wrong, but against Chicago most of the way and that drive things just don't feel in sync, especially when teams blitz.

Hope I'm wrong. My hope is it's just Ryan finding the play-calling rythym and will be good after the first few games.

Remember, the offense didn't turn into the machine it was until year 2 under Shanahan.

We may have to completely abandon the run to the right.

Guys, don't you remember my Quinn thread from last year?

See there's a plan behind all my Falcons posts.

You do realize how incredibly rare it is for a NFL team to average 34 ppg, right?

Ryan looks fine. There will naturally be some regression from last year's astronomical numbers

Remember that time, for about 8 years, when our defense couldnt sack a one legged midget?

When Quinn got to town, we had the slowest defense and the worst pass rush in the NFL. 3 years later, we have the fastest defense with a rapidly improving pass rush.

ETA: The good Mike Smith teams won a lot of games because they didn't beat themselves very often, not necessarily because of having a better roster. That's changing.
