That division being so shitty was absolutely a factor in their dominance.
And cheating. But most NFL teams looked for an edge, so I don't mind that parr so much. Their coaching was ahead of the rest of the league for a while as well.
Brady is an excellent QB
But I'd draft several ahead of him. In an all time QB draft, I'd take Brady around 5.
Really quickly with almost no thought, I'd say:
Mahomes
Manning
Montana
Brees
Brady

One of the most crucial parts of the Patriots run that doesn't ever get talked about is Brady constantly taking below market value deals to allow the Patriots to build the roster around him. This is something that Matt Ryan has never done.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Patriots paid Brady more money under the table that didn't count against the cap, but having more money to allocate to the rest of the roster was crucial for New England.

So true.
Even if they don't pay you under the table, which they probably did, you know if the team wins you'll crush tv ads, etc for even more money.
If you're already making unreal money,, you can prioritize winning and the rest will work itself out.
Brady did it best.

Doesn’t hurt that his wife makes way more than he.

I don’t agree at all with your conclusion. To simply rest things solely on post-season success is crap. Especially when for your entire career (except last year) you were gifted a division title before the regular season started due to the utter incompetence of your division rivals.
Yep, the biggest difference between Brees and Brady is their surrounding environment. Brady had every edge imaginable (coaching, defense, special teams, multiple cheating scandals, a super powerful owner in Kraft, etc.). Brees had an incredible offensive mind as his head coach. Brees had Brady luck in 2009 and look how it turned out.
Both are all-time greats, but Brady if was drafted by Detroit, he certainly would not have a sliver of the rep he has (still would be an all-time great).
It's pathetic how no one gets beyond rings in a such a team sport.
