Last Toronto goal was a piss missle. Tough loss. Gotta get the freebies early and go up 2-0.

Luckily, MLS is more too heavy than Pamela Anderson in her prime. They’ll be doing this year in and year out.

Man, we completely dominated that game and both of those Toronto goals were on unbelievable shots. What a kick in the nuts. We bury that penalty kick in the 11th minute and I don't think there's any way they get back in it. And we would have had the final at home.

Real bummer. Good thing we're used to it.

ATLabama, I know we've had our differences on here a couple times, but be thankful you've got the Tide to root for, dude. Rooting for Georgia along with the Atlanta sports teams is a match made in hell.

Guys, I know we get bummed out but ATL UTD just won the MLS last season. We can’t get mad at them for not winning every year. They had a good run and it should be commended and saluted.

Stop taking your Braves and Falcons anger out on the UTD.

I’d have given up sports after the 28-3, 2nd and 26 sequence. You’re a stronger man than I.

I'm not really that bummed at all to be honest. Won a couple trophies this season despite an up and down year where we never really dominated for any length of time. I don't think the final is going to crown the best team (I think everyone agrees here) but then again I'm not sure we really have a claim to that either.

Pretty sure Atlanta has one of the highest season ticket prices in the league.

They would have been much higher if Blank had charged United STHs a PSL instead of having the Falcons STHs subsidize it.

I honestly believe it's because a ton of the United fanbase is hipsters who hopped on the soccer bandwagon because it wasn't mainstream. And those people love shitting on the things other people love.

A lot of it is still residual ITP anger/butthurt about the Braves moving to Cumberland (which while a minority, is still very loud).

I'm an ITPer who thought it should have gone in the gulch (though, the new development going there is gonna be bad arse). But, Atlanta gave deference to the Falcons (rightfully so), and wouldn't negotiate with the Braves until the Benz was locked in place. Don't blame the Braves for taking the deal with Cobb - the package was absurd. I was hoping the stadium would be a carat for Cobb to say yes to expanding MARTA up the I-75 corridor to alleviate the hellacious traffic by the stadium, alas - it has not come to fruition.

However, I'm by far a much bigger Falcons, Hawks, Braves fan than I am a United fan. I feel like the original franchise fanbases really stick together, whereas Atlanta United fans think they're the greatest, most creative, unique and eclectic group of humans to grace the earth.

United prices may be tops in the league, but, as one person pointed out earlier, they'd be (not joking) 3X the price for their NFL counterpart, and that's without the PSL.

I had United season tickets for the first 2 years in the 200 level sideline. They were 34 dollars a game, no PSL. For the Falcons, it's a PSL fee of $3500, and 120 dollars a ticket, per game. The PSLs were put in place with the sole purpose of financing the stadium.

I'm glad we've got another good team in town, but these 45k baristas who blow red and black smoke up each others asses in the current gulch and beat their chest about how great they are and how much the rest of the other team's fanbases aren't as passionate as them can get fricked. Their good time is quite literally being subsidized by the NFL franchise, it's fans, and sponsors.

If the NHL came back to town (and based on the NHL's new tv deal having gaping holes in ATL & HOU, I think it will in 10-20 years when the ASG stink wears off), Atlanta United would fall to 5th in the sports lexicon here in Atlanta.

I have no problem with soccer - but we're in the United States. Our 4 professional sports leagues: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL are the stage where the best in the world play. Period. No contest.

What is MLS for soccer as a league - 9th? Don't piss in my shoes and tell me it's raining. We're accustomed to having the best.

I'll still go to 2-3 games a year and have a darn good time at the Benz cheering on Josef and the boys. As it's been said a few times before, it's an incredible value. It's not Blank or the player's fault the fanbase is a bunch of anti-capitalistic beta males with an inferiority complex.

I'm 29... in the thick of the generation. I love art, appreciate diversity, and enjoy all walks of life.

But the folks that go to these games are an easily offended crowd, and absolutely have an inferiority complex as a fanbase. "Beta male" may be a bit harsh, but, it's not completely wrong.

It's not a great term, but I think it paints roughly the right strokes of a lot of the folks who paint themselves as an ATLUTD "die hard."

Like, you've had a team for 3 years, relax. Hope it doesn't happen soon, but, I wonder what crowds look like when they have consecutive losing seasons.

The most soccer post I've ever seen.

I love watching the games, but there are too many damn awards and trophies doled out, waters everything down.

You're sig is #TITS. Ain't no doubt.

FWIW, I think the Hawks will end up being the team to end the drought. It'll be 2-3 years, but, I can actually see it with a good owner, GM, and coach for the first time in 50 years.
