NY Post Article.

He referred to his time in Indy as a "shite show". Which he is not wrong, considering they hired a guy with absolutely no HC experience beyond high school to run an NFL franchise.

Matt Ryan will always be a Falcons legend and it made me happy to see him return to ATL training camp, but the way he left did hurt. He had to understand with Deshaun Watson being available that the Falcons had to try their luck and get him. Which of course, failed.

I read a stat the other day about MR.

67% completion % during a 10 year span.

That's quite a #.

I did not fact check, but have no reason not to believe it.

Look forward to seeing him on TV.

It failed because the Browns were dumber than us.

Matty check down. It’s not surprising to me. I was never a huge fan but he was an above average nfl qb for 10 years. He always had talent around him but his happy feet and noodle arm held him and us back. Obviously 28-3 will be a big part of his legacy but he was a top 5 qb in the league for 3-4 years and top 10 his whole time with the falcons.

I think the Falcons wanted to move on from Matt so they floated the idea of them looking at Watson which they knew would upset him to where he left on his own.

That's an interesting theory. I'm still amazed the Falcons got a 3rd round pick and for someone to take his entire contract. He looked washed up for a lot of 2021.

Difficult to overstate just how much stability Ryan brought to a franchise that was in absolute utter disarray when he was drafted.

He was a model citizen, a great leader, and a HOF-worthy QB during his time in Atlanta.

He'll forever be associated with Kyle Shanahan being an absolute dumbass (which Shanahan repeated a few years later with the 9ers), which is really too bad.

Ryan deserved more credit than he ever received.

Good: If the Falcons avoid the epic meltdown Ryan is in the HOF discussion. Maybe not in but at least gets discussed.

Bad: Matt seemed to get a ton of yards in losses after the outcome was decided and the defense was playing prevent and Ryan was content to throw the ball six yards and have the receiver run 6 more.

He may have 3 or 4 drives like this in 10 games every year.

If the Falcons don't choke away SB51, Ryan and the franchise don't get the stink of it and probably do better in 2017 and 2018 (with possibly two titles in that three-year span). Two rings and another possible MVP (in 2018 he had similar numbers as 2016) get him into Canton easily.

He was a loser way before 28-3. All that did was showcase it for everyone.

He just is not a winner. He is a stat king. Not the leader Atlanta needed.

Atlanta needs a qb that is going to bring the entire team up..
