Yes, I know MB is not headquartered in Atlanta either. But Stuttgart, Germany is not Charlotte. Charlotte is a rival when it comes to banking.

We're MB's north american HQ now

The naming rights deal was for 25 years, $10mil a year. Maybe there was some clause in it that allows the Braves to seek other sponsors in the event of a buyout/merger by Sun Trust Bank. Just realized Coke sponsors a Triple-A team in Pennsylvania. Home Depot, Delta, UPS, Southern Company, Coke will hopefully try and step up, I really don’t want to see Truist Bank all over the stadium.

I doubt they will though

I mean Coke has had ample opportunity to get in the mix on Atlanta naming rights and don't seem particularly interested. Maybe they think the iconic connection between Coke and Atlanta is such that they really only care about visual branding (hence huge signage in all of the parks/arenas usually).

Truist is probably considering the rights a major asset because they're going to need tons of exposure to get this dumbass name off the ground. It's just kicking us while we're down - first a prominent Atlanta brand/company leaves, now we're going to be stuck with this shitty name.

I can't believe we're actually doing this "unveiling" shite complete with draped prop and press conference

Surprise, it's Truist Park/Stadium/Field

What time is the announcement? I have looked on a few places online and all they say is today.

I don’t care for it one bit. My fan hood is clinging to life at this point. From a little boy hanging on every pitch of the 1991 NLCS/WS to seeing the tomahawk chop die and the stadium named Truist Field.

I deserve, at minimum, a reacharound for all the GD Atlanta Braves have put me through.

As far as I'm concerned this is the only thing I will ever call it.

You are mad because the stadium naming rights sponsor merged with another bank? The Braves have a corporate naming rights sponsor for over two decades now.

I don't think the chop is going away, but I would at least understand your anger if you lost a team/fan ritual.
