Getting a future 1st rounder from Dallas (who will continue to suck, as will we) in the deal.
I'm good with it. Get a couple of high picks next year and a pretty good player in Young. I wasn't as high on Doncic as many were. I actually wanted Jackson.
No pick here was going to salvage this season.

Next year's draft sucks though. After Barrett it's a ton of meh prospects. This is a very good draft and just getting Trae Young is a big miss.

I don't think the gap between Doncic and Young is nearly as big as people are making it out to be. I think both have about a 30% shot of turning into a really good player.
Young' also not going to be the only player we get tonight, we've got another move or two here.

A pick that'll be widely questioned by everyone as perhaps historically bad isn't the problem, the fan base who is disappointed about it is?

If you think Trae Young was the sole goal of this rebuild, you pay about as much attention as I expected. Why do you think we're trying to get future 1st round picks? This is clearly the long play because Schlenk doesn't think Doncic is the superstar social media is making him out to be, and I agree with that.
