Drake London

Not what I wanted. But I don't run NFL teams.

This is why the Falcons are the Falcons. Jesus Christ. With all of the line of scrimmage talent in this draft, they pick a WR who runs like a designated hitter.

It’s amazing how people in such lofty positions can make such stupid decisions.

I hated the pick at first but it's growing on me slightly in the fact that we needed a big tall WR to go along with Pitts as another threat. Doesn't change the fact that we had other more pressing needs but I'm not that up set not blowing another first round pick on an OT or pass rusher. I'm still jaded from Tak, Victoria, and Mcgary (i would add Mayfield but he was 3rd rnd iirc).

Absolutely exactly how I'm feeling.

Add to it the fact that since Atlanta took the first receiver at pick 8, like 5 more have been taken in the next 8 or so picks.

Just because everyone else reached for a WR doesn't mean the Falcons need to. They've been terrible in the front seven for 20 years, and drafting like they're running a fantasy team is a big reason why.

I've always thought that if you had dominant line of scrimmage play then your skill players don't necessarily need to be as good.

The next two drafts should be about drafting the best player available. They had a real opportunity to take a top defensive player from Georgia this draft without it being a dumb decision. They still couldn't do it.

Yea I was ok with a big arse, tall, lanky WR who can pair well with Pitts. We would've been mad had they taken the QB as well. I think WR was one of our biggest weaknesses, along with DE/DLine but the kid from Oregon was already gone. Take the best of what's available. I am ok with it. It's all a gamble at the end of the day anyways.

London felt like a luxury pick for a team that very much can't afford luxury.

He's like purchasing a fully loaded hot tub while your home's foundation is crumbling in and there are feral animals living in your attic.

The other comparison I saw like this is drafting London was like putting new rims on a totaled Ford Pinto.

I like the Ridder pick. At 74 he can sit for a year and hopefully get better in practice.

Be ready to start in 23.

If you objectively look at this Draft it's hard to argue the picks. You could argue Malik over Ridder, but I lean Ridder.

The edge guy from Penn State is a good pick. Whitey LB is a speed freak and excellent football player. Look, I love Nakobe, but this kid could be special. It's a better pick.

The other LB is actually an edge rusher. Something Nakobe is not.

He was drafted because of his outstanding measurable's in the underwear olympics. Let's not pretend otherwise. The knock on him is he's still just an athlete and has only been playing LB for two seasons. Go read his draft profile. He shys away from contact at times and get himself caught in bodies a lot and doesn't shed well. He's got a lot of flaws as a guy who hasn't played the position for very long. That said, the potential is off the charts. They could have taken Nakobe Dean who plays the position like a seasoned vet or this guy who was clearly more athletic but has some SUS / Bust potential. I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks and I understand the pick - The kid is a versatile athlete and he's huge but he's also really really raw which has been biting teams in the arse since the underwear olympics started.

Drake London is a possession receiver as well. Had a pedestrian 12.7 YPR on 88 catches. Obviously he's a great target because his catch radius is huge and he wins the 50/50 balls routinely but we just drafted this dude number 7 in the draft knowing full well he's a possession receiver in the NFL and like others have said - it's like buying a bidet when you live in a trailer.

Yes

The fastest linebacker they tested. No pads. But the kid is versatile.
