Nah, he's going to do something... probably on the cheap though. He's not about to give up the farm for a couple of rental players, which, if he sticks to that, is a very sound strategy.
We really need a SP and 2 RP.
If AA can get us a couple of guys with a few years of team control, it would be worth it to part ways with a couple of highly ranked prospects.

Would be shocked if we get involved in a last minute deal for anyone notable. Anthopolous has been strict about staying the course and not veering to appease the desire to win a little bit now (i.e. what the padres have done the last few years).
Last minute deals (especially for rentals) are the most volatile in baseball, and I don't think we are one player away from being a serious world series contender. Stick with what we have today - we are already playing with house money this season. Washington appears on the verge of a mini-rebuild, and I love our chances going up against the Phillies the next few years.

With Allard set to make his debut tomorrow, Kyle Wright has been promoted to AAA. This seems like it could set the stage for Gohara to be traded.
I would think that if Gohara is on the move, it won't be for a rental or a low end bullpen piece.

Yep, I think either Gohara and/or Fried is traded as part of a big time move for Atlanta, or someone like Sanchez is traded to someone like the Yankees who are still looking for starters.

A lot of smoke about the Rangers interest in Gohara.

They have nothing to offer that AA would give up for Gohara.
He has stated multiple times he wouldnt trade a prospect for a rental or a reliever.

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves today acquired OF Adam Duvall from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for RHP Lucas Sims, RHP Matt Wisler, and OF Preston Tucker. Duvall, 29, hit .205 with 15 home runs and 61 RBI in 105 games with Cincinnati this season. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Louisville, Ky., hit 64 home runs over the previous two seasons (33 in 2016 and 31 in 2017) and made the National League All-Star team in 2016. His 79 home runs since the beginning of the 2016 season are tied for the fifth most in the National League. He also was a finalist for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award in each of the last two seasons.

Gohara would be the centerpiece of a deal for Archer or Stroman, IMO.
I like the Duvall deal. Someone said on the MSB that he could platoon with Ender by moving Acuna to center. I like that idea.

Agreed. Hopefully, him and Riley as the centerpieces, and not Pache/Waters.

I can live with Camargo as the everyday 3B going forward. I don't want my dream outfield of Acuna/Pache/Waters ruined.
ETA: Depending on how quickly Pache progresses, Ender could become a super valuable trade chip with his relatively cheap contract and years of control remaining.

I feel the same. That is a sexy outfield.
I honestly dont know if Riley could even overtake Camargo at third. His value is at its highest, and he has legitimate swing and miss concerns.
Gohara, Riley, Muller/Ynoa, and Cumberland/Jackson for Archer would probably make a lot of sense for both teams.

I don't think he can for now. Camargo only seems to get better as he gets more playing time. Switch hitter with a strong arm. He's now 4th on the team in RBI's despite having about 140 less at bats as the 3 guys ahead of him (Ozzie 423, Markakis 404, and Freddie 400, Camargo 264). He's 6th on the team in hits with 68, and trails Dansby by only 12 hits even though Dansby has 62 more at bats.
I've been checking in on Riley's stats about once a week and the glaring sore spot with him right now in AAA is his strike out percentage. It's about 32%.

Even in an era where people don't seem to care about striking out, 200 Ks over a 600 AB is horrendous.
I am disappointed that Cincy appears to be headed in the right direction. I was hoping for an all out rebuild so that they would consider selling off Suarez. I had a package of Riley, 2 top pitching prospects, and a couple of lottery tickets floating around in the back of my mind for the last several months.

It's funny you say that, I was researching the Reds as well since they're in last place in their division and might consider a sell off and rebuild, but from what I read most of the local sports papers and writers are strongly against it. They feel they're not too far off from being in the mix in the NL Central.

Ive seen him in person twice this year, and he still has a very loopy swing, and he misses fast balls that have velo. I have seen him hit two absolute bombs as well, but both of those were on breaking pitches that were hung.

Bryse Wilson was just called up to AAA.
Their starting rotation after all of the changes now apears to be:
Gohara
Wilson
Touki
Wright
Parsons
Damn...that's strong
Not to mention Patrick Weigel who is still rehabbing from surgery last year. He was well on his way up the chain and probably would have made a start in Atlanta this year if not for the injury.
