I'm really curious what the Rays are asking from us in exchange for Archer.

Apparently in on Harvey and Gasman as well

welp, Gausman it is. Has filthy stuff but mediocre results so far in his career. I'll go in with an open mind and assume it's due to pitching in the AL East.

sounds like Gausman is official

Yep, just wondering who were shipping off.

Yeah playing the Sox and Yanks on a terrible ball club has to be a helpless feeling.

Gotta say I'm pretty damn happy with the way this deadline worked out. Addressed our issues without diving too deep into the prospect pool. Especially glad we held onto our pitchers in the minors.

Agreed...also send 2.5 MIL intl signing money, but that's fine since we can't use it

So we have
Gausman, Teheran, Allard, Folty, Newcomb in Atlanta
Wilson, Gohara, Fried, Touki, Wright in Gwinnett
Soroka is injured
There will have to be a few trades this offseason. Thats a lot of potentially good guys.

3 relievers, starter, bat for no major prospects ain't bad

I give the Bravos a B+...used the allotment of international money they can't spend to their advantage and pulled solid pen guys like O'Day, brach and centers, then traded guys who didn't fit in the future for Duvall and Gausman. Getting that haul without dipping in your top 20 guys is impressive.
Did we get the stud starter L, reliever,or closer we wanted via trade no but the asking price for them was too high.
Look for ATL to make a sp and closer splash this offseason

I think Encarnacion was 14th in the Braves system. Also O'Day won't be useful until next season, but even that is a decent move since he was sort of thrown into the deal as an adder. Relief pitching will always be needed at the deadline, so why not get ahead of the game a year advance.

We gave up fringe prospects for Gausman who has nasty stuff that has never played up. If we can get him to be more consistent this is an absolute steal. He’s a number 3 with the talent to be a number 1. Not sad to lose any prospect we lost.
I had heard we offered Ian Anderson and Pache for Chris Archer and that would have sucked. Not that I dislike Archer but Pache and Anderson are two of the biggest risers in the system with Anderson being probably my favorite pitching prospect.

frick that if true. Glad that didn't happen.

Last year I would have said...here, take Pache. The dude slugged .431 in high A this year which is significantly higher than he showed he was capable of prior to this year.
Also, at the time, I assumed that Acuna would be a center fielder but they are now projecting him to be a permanent corner outfield that can play CF if needed. Prior to last year, even Acuna wasn't showing a ton of home run power, so I didn't really care if we kept both he and Pache.
Now that Acuna is what he is, and now that Pache is developing some power of his own, there's no way in hell I trade him. He has almost reached untouchable status for me, regardless of the (realistic) return.
