Hey guys,
I told Chicken I would make a thread each day if it meant we got to keep the gang together on this board.
How are we feeling about the Braves and this recent tear we've been on?
I haven't been able to watch much on TV since my roommate with the Bally Sports App is no longer living with me, but it seems like we are finally humming along like we should have been in Spring/early Summer.

Riley/Ozzie/Dansby are on fire. Soler is a great pickup. Duvall is home. Pitching has been adequate to good with a little great mixed in. They’ve been fun to watch.

I would have been curious to see which moves AA would have made had Ronald not been lost for the season.
Assuming Ozuna still had his issues with the law, what do you think the OF move would have been?
Regardless, I'm pleased with the additions. We were at the point where if Freddie went cold again, we were likely toast for the year. Now we can withstand a couple of coldspells in August/September because there are so many guys that can provide instant offense on a given night.
Will we move Touki to the pen when Ian comes back, or will he get sent back down? I'd like to see Touki take Tomlin's spot, to be honest.
Braves are doing what they need to do...go .500 against the good teams (like we did for 3 weeks after the all star break) and then beat up on the shite.

I think Touki has earned a spot. I’d hope he moves to the pen instead of reassignment.

The Braves are on fricking fire.
Just hope we’re not peaking 1 month too soon

Just for giggles, I went back to see the NL East Standings from July 19th to Aug 19th (today). Scope this out:
July 19th, 2021:
NYM 49 42 .538
PHI 47 45 .511
ATL 45 47 .489
WSN 44 49 .473
MIA 40 54 .426
August 18th, 2021:
ATL 65 56 .537
PHI 61 59 .508
NYM 60 60 .500
WSN 52 68 .433
MIA 51 70 .421
What is that? 20 wins and 9 losses. Coming from the team that set a record with 18 straight - win 1, lose 1 back to back - damn impressive.
LETS GO BRAVES!

Don’t forget we have Rosario coming too, his bat should be an improvement over Soler.

I'm ready to get hurt again.

I kinda was last night. That game against the Yankees was close until it got to the 6th and then the better team rose up.
If they beat us again tonight, I will lower my expectations just to be a meh playoff team, probably bounced by SD or the Dodgers as the wild card.

Have to rebound and win tonight.

In other news, Shane Greene shut down the Padres 1-2-3 with 2 Ks last night on 12 pitches.

I'm still in it.
I had tuned out after the RAJ injury, but met up with a buddy in from out of town who had already bought tickets to the 7/31 game vs. the Brewers.
With school starting back for the kids, it is hard to follow it as much as I was in the summer, but they've sucked me back in.

It’s really passing me off that the Spanish language game on the ESPN app has been live since the first pitch. The English broadcast says the game will start at 10:00. Yet here we are at 10:21 and the English broadcast is still not on.
Oh and smiley, the bum, gave up a bomb in the bottom of the first.
