This is what worries me. The organization still seems to be extremely averse to both long-term deals (Acuna and Albies don't count. no organization is cheap enough to not make those offers), and moving significant prospects before their values go to zero.

They've really messed up on a few of these. They held onto Kolby Allard for too long and they're doing it with Touki.

last thing I'm worried about is signing Freeman. that'll happen and be good for both sides.

Touki is one of about a half dozen pitchers with no real path to significant innings in this organization.

That was the previous regime to be fair.

Jurickson Profar resigned with the Padres 3/21,000,000

According to ESPN rankings, FWIW, this is what remains of any significance from the free agent pool:

5. Marcel Ozuna
22. Jackie Bradley Jr.
32. Kyle Schwarber
33. Eddie Rosario

I'm honestly surprised there has been no talk of us trying to get Ramirez from the Indians. The Indians are trying to Major League that team right now and this guy is a 3rd baseman who is worth way more than his contract pays him, and he is locked in for another 3 seasons.

The cost to get him would be enormous. The Indians have a very shrewd front office and would not trade him for pennies. He is probably off limits unless they are blown away. Any package for him that doesn't include Pache would probably be a non-starter from the Indians side.

For sure, at least Pache,Riley, and someone else probably.

That someone else would be one of Soroka, Fried, or Anderson. Ramirez is a stud, but the Braves aren't the type of organization who can quickly rebuild the depth it would cost to get him.

either a big trade is In the works or we've completely bungled this offseason

W/AA you don't hear about it until it happens or when it is imminent. He is very good at keeping things quiet. He has always said that if you hear the Braves in rumors for someone it ain't happening.

Realmuto back to the Phillies for the surprisingly affordable 5/115,500,000.

Marcus Semien to the Blue Jays 1 year/18,000,000.

Not that the braves needed a shortstop, but it looks like the Jays are going for it.

For 1/$18M, I would have loved to sign him, play him at 3B, and move Riley to LF.

Joc Pederson to the Cubs 1/7,000,000
Eddie Rosario to the Indians 1/7,750,000

Arenado traded to the Cardinals for several players and money.

Why do I have the horrible sinking feeling that we'll get bounced 4-2 in the play-in game by the dodgers/padres with ender/Camargo killing multiple potential rallies?
