I'm sure most of you saw already that Josh Tomlin was resigned for 1 million.

AJC

Any other ideas or predictions?

What do you guys think Justin Turner will get offered at 35?

Stroman is returning to the Mets. We have got to fix this pitching staff. Sign two starters and Ozuna. Freddie needs an extension while we're at it

I wouldn’t get your hopes up about signing 2 starters. I’d love for them to sign Mike Minor.

2021 rotation will be as follows:

Soroka
Fried
Anderson
Milone
Wilson/Wright

Don't expect the Braves to make any splashes or resign Ozuna. They will likely look to get a guy like Ozuna who is available and can rake for a 1year rate instead of paying yearly deals.

This ownership is not going to spend heavily on one guy so getting Ozuna or Bauer is a pipe dream.

Like who? You think guys like Ozuna are growing on trees?
I think the fan base will be thoroughly pissed if they don't make a serious run at em
and they better not lose em to the Mets

With Freeman’s contract looming and the slight increases in the restricted guys, I don’t see us signing any free agents outside of a few dumpster dives. Pache will have a good shot to make the the starting lineup, Duvall in right, Riley in left, and Comargo at third is what I see right now. If the DH remains in the NL AA will sign the best option he can get for less than ten million. Revenues are down and management’s hands are tied to their percentage of money set aside for roster management.

AA will say they wanted to keep Ozuna but couldn’t find the right deal to save face, but the reality is they won’t pay him. The Mets new owner sounds like a long time fan and will likely spend their way to winning if possible.

Not exactly sure what this means because I've never heard em talk about specifics in any negotiation he's having.
Do you have a link or the quote?

Losing a player like Ozuna to free agency is bad but losing em within the division is something you NEVER want to do.

In fact, when MLB.com executive reporter Mark Feinsand laid out the top eight potential suitors for Ozuna on Tuesday, the Braves came in at No. 1 on the list. After all, things worked out quite well for the two sides in 2020, when Ozuna put together the best season of his career (albeit over 60 games) and Atlanta advanced to the National League Championship Series for the first time in almost 20 years.

That's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

3B is Riley's for the foreseeable future.

This is what I mean, this is what he had to say about the Josh Donaldson negotiations.

"We were given every opportunity to sign him. His agent (Dan Lozano of MVP Sports Group) was fantastic throughout the process. I’ve known Josh for years now, and he deserves this contract. I’m happy for him. Ultimately, we went as far as we thought made sense for us, and it was less than what the Twins offered."

I would whole heartedly agree it would be horrible to lose in within the division.

Of course this makes sense on paper, but are the Braves going to make him an offer that would be on par. 680 reported last week that there were at least 10 teams interested in Ozuna's services.

same for me. gotta stop trying to make "camargo the everyday third baseman" a thing. He is not an everyday player on a contender.

And he said this after he signed with the Twins.Huge difference between commenting on an ongoing negotiation and a negotiation after the fact.

Donaldson and Ozuna are two different situations.I don't think AA uses a one size fits all approaches to FA signings.

Milone is already off the roster. He was released before the playoffs started.

No Acuna?

Duvall/Pache/Acuna will be the outfield unless the Braves go sign someone like Michael Brantley.

You’re right. That slipped my mind. Throw Drew Smyly in that spot. We just signed him for 1 year $11 million.

Of course Acuna, that was just an error on my part.

Mike Clevenger is having his second TJS and will miss all of 2021.

All of you who trashed AA or even wanted him fired owe him an apology. Turns out he knew what he was doing in not giving up prospects/ML-ready players for damaged goods. Looks like the advanced medicals were right.

MLB needs to make a comment on the DH immediately. If it's out until '22 or the new deal, say so. It matters.
