Buck Belue and Hutson Mason would be a good duo, IMO

IMO Buck was worse than Kincade on Buck and Kincade

But I thoroughly enjoy Buck on the Braves shows

I've all but given up on ATL sports radio.

UGA podcasts all the time.

Chipper dropped a "#karma" tweet yesterday. He got beef with Steak or Kincade?

I thought those two guys hated each other, I had no idea about the Chipper part of that. How do you lay of Kincaid and not Buck? I guess his history? Buck doesn't know anything about anything.

End of an era.

Not gonna lie, this one hurts a little. No matter what you think of them, they WERE the kings of Atlanta sports radio. They had 45 yrs.roughly of time between them. You don't log that much time in one market, and for John, at one station(20 yrs) if you suck, especially in the #7 media market in the nation.

I was a loyal B & K listener, pretty much from day 1. Hard to believe that him and Buck started when I was just 15 months removed from graduating Griffin High. This will be unpopular, but I liked John. I didn't always agree w/him,(I did more as I got older), but he backed his opinions up w/facts and research, something you can't say about a lot of hosts in that genre, and he would always admit when he was wrong. Him and Buck had great chemistry. As for Steak, I get that he is an acquired taste.

Also, and most importantly,John is a good man w/a rock solid moral compass, a man of faith, and a dedicated family man. He's a 2X cancer survivor and the amount of money he has raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is beyond pale. I think a lot of the hate here is very misguided, IMO. Atlanta sports radio got worse yesterday losing those 2. And they will be missed. But they'll land on their feet. John still has his CBS show and Steak has Atlanta Eats. They would make a great morning duo on 92.9 b/c their morning show as currently constituted is turrible. Just bad.

And 92.9 sucks arse!

Not that I'm aware of. He may of been referring to the station in general for letting them go? IDK.

The best radio show in Atlanta is Hugh Douglas and John Fricke In the morning. They’re unbelievably entertaining, and know football (pro and college) at bar that far exceeds anyone at 680.

The only thing 680 is worth a damn for anymore is their Braves Coverage. They kill it on that. Otherwise, I’ve gotten pretty tired of Buck Belue’s staggering lack of knowledge of the evolution of football and recruiting, and John Kinkade being an unabashed Philly fan.

680 just needs to move Buck to a part-time role where he just does the “Dawg report” or something.

I’ll miss B&K from a nostalgia standpoint, but that’s it.

I’m a pretty die hard Hawks and Falcons fan, so I prefer 92.9 to 680, simply because of their coverage contracts. They get first pick of interviews, coaches shows, and pre-game/post-game coverage. Couldn’t care less about Atlanta United, but if you’re into that, they have that too.

For such a big market, it’s a shame we don’t have better on-air talent. John/Hugh in the morning and Chuck/Chernoff in afternoon are pretty good, but man... the drop off after that is a straight up cliff.

To end on a positive note, they all do a great job of pre, in-game, and postgame coverage of our sports teams. Wes/Arch for Falcons are fricking outstanding. Steve Holman is an Atlanta staple, 30+ years calling the Basketbird games. The 680 team of Jim, Don, Ben, and team have always been an easy listen.

That appears to be the route they're going. And John Michaels will replace Steak, that is a great move IMO. He's fantastic.

The morning show on 929 is hot garbage. So we'll disagree on that. The only show on that station worth a darn is Chuckery. He's funny as hell. And the morning show sucks not b/c of Hugh, whom I actually like a lot, it's Fricke. He's not good. If they paired Hugh up w/someone who is actually talented they'd be onto something. Someone mentioned on Kincade's twitter yesterday about him and Steak ending up on the morning show on 929. That's my dream. They'd be dynamite.

680 is way better than 929 IMO

Kincade getting axed hurts. I've been listening to them since 2002. They could've at least given him the option of renegotiating his contract.

Yep. He has said that he would of done it had he been given the option.

Listening to his CBS show now.

Very surprising.Im assuming Steak and Kincade got the ax because of their salaries. Both were probably paid more than any other personalities on 680.

Their ratings haven't been very good for a while.

No thanks on 92.9

What? You Hugh Douglas knows more about
the NFL than Brian Finneran? GTFO! Hugh
is barely literate and neither have close to the CFB insight as Chuck Oliver or even Buck.

I think 680's ratings have been fine, especially C & C. They don't use the same rating system that most stations do. This was all budget related.

And agree on 929. I'll listen to Chuckery on occasion but aside from that, nah brah. Outside of him that station is garbage.
