But when Dansby is back where do you hit him?
You gotta GOTTA leave Ozzie at 2 for now.
My guess would be when Bmac is in he hits 5 with Dansby at 6 then Duvall ender.
When flowers in Dansby 5 Duvall 6 flowers 7 ender 8
?

Looks good but for right now I'd flip Dansby and Duvall.
If (when) Duvall cools off then I'd go with your order.
I'm getting a little tired of seeing Flowers behind the plate. His defense is meh, framing isn't all that, and his hitting has fallen off since mid-June.
Flowers has not had consecutive outings with a positive WPA since June 9th/12th.

I don't see the team carrying 13 pitchers into the postseason, so here's what I'd do. Assuming they maintain 12 position players and 13 pitchers throughout august, I'd seen Riley to AAA right now, let him work his way out of the slump, and then on August 31st bring him up to replace the relief pitcher that you don't intend on carrying into the playoffs. This makes it such that Riley is eligible for the postseason roster. Then you can bring up as many pitchers as you want on Sept 1st with the roster expansion.
If we get to the end of the season and Riley hasn't shown he's ready, then put him on the IL and replace him with another bat.
But imagine a back to normal Riley and Duvall both in the lineup against one of LA's lefty starters. My oh my.
Acuna
Albies
Freeman
Donaldson
Duvall
Riley
McCann (please Snit, please don't play Flowers simply because of the lefty/righty matchups)
Swanson
Pitcher
Man, I love that lineup against lefty pitchers.

You wanna go ahead and draft the email to Snit? Because I'm on board with this...

He should’ve been sent already. Why just sit him on the bench when he could be getting reps in Gwinnett? If he has some strikeouts tonight I think he goes.

Wonder if gausman is going to make it out of the first inning.

I wish the Braves hadn't parted ways with Alex Wood.

It might be time for Gausman to be diagnosed with tendinitis.

In his six appearances since getting sent down, Foltynewicz has pitched 33-2/3 innings, struck out 31, walked eight and given up nary a home run yet. There were some hard-hit balls Tuesday, but they stayed in the park or went just foul. The velocity was good, touching 95 mph with regularity. And the slider had a bite. His ERA these past six games: 2.67.

Gausman looked good in AAA too, right??? Should we be worried? I say Gausman to pen and see if he has value there...give Folty another shot in rotation and if he fails, give him a shot in pen (still think he's a Smoltzy like closer waiting to happen)...

Gausman has to stop getting valuable innings. There are many other pitchers that give us an equally good chance of winning in comparison to Gausman. It is very disheartening for a thriving team like the Braves to accept mediocrity once every five games. It has to stop. Last night wasn't even a "prime example" per se, but Gasuman was very far from sharp nonetheless. Make a change Braves!

Call me Silky Johnson, but frick Ender for running on that ball in the dirt (or Ron Washington for sending him).

So random story time...
On my 3rd deployment we had a guy from western Pennsylvania with us. He was a yuuuge Pirates fan which I kinda respected because the Pirates were garbage from when Sid Slid until Clutch carried their asses into the playoffs.
He said they used to play a game called "Former Pirate" when watching Pittsburg games where you had to identify former Pirates playing for their opponent and the person who IDed the most former Pirates won.
Between Lucas Sims, Wood pitching last night, and Jose Peraza I feel like I could play the "Former Brave" game when Atlanta plays Cinci.

Melancon throws like he's scared when he has runners on base.

And let's see how Shane Greene does as a Bravo...
4-3 Braves middle of the 9th.

Lol @shane green.
I was busy tonight and wasn't able to watch, but this recap doesn't make it seem like Shane Greene was necessarily
quote:
Greene then proceeded to have the worst luck inning ever as he allowed a two soft singles to start the inning. Then Josh VanMeter tapped a ball off the plate back to the pitcher and Greene only had one play at first base. Greene was able to induce a popup by Tucker Barnhart, but it landed in between three guys in left field to allow Jose Iglesias to score and tie the game. Greene got out of it, but very easily could’ve been looking at his first save with just some better luck.
Nevertheless Atlanta took the field in the bottom of the ninth against the Reds closer Rasiel Iglesias. Iglesias made quick work of the Braves and the game made its way into extra innings.
In fitting fashion Luke Jackson then struck out the side in the top of the 10th inning and made it look easy.
if Shane's presence makes Luke Jackson function as a serviceable strike out the side closer, frick it... best acquisition ever.

If anything makes Luke Jackson better... I'm for it. The dude makes me anxious every time he comes to the mound.. even with a 5+ run lead

Greene is fools gold. He is extremely lucky this year.
BABIP-.183........career average is over .300
LOB%-86.1%.......career average is 69%
GB%-54.7%........career average is around 46%
His Ks are at his career average. His walks are at his career average. His fastball is 1.5 MPHs lower than last year and is only at 92.9 MPH.
There isn’t anything that shows that what he is doing is sustainable. AA is smart enough to see this.
Damn, looks like stats/law of averages win once again. If people only listened.
