While this sucks, I’m hoping the Braves are trying to weed through some pitching prospects before the trade deadline, and while we have a nice lead.

Our bats have to get going though.

Culberson brought in as the 9th inning relief pitcher.

What potential moves do you guys see the front office making, if any, before the deadline?

Last night's game was brutal.

Send Touki to Gwinnett and keep him there.

Kyle Wright melted down. Disappointing to see.

It's incredible the Braves are where they are this season considering the #1 starter is a rookie, the #2 starter just joined the team a couple of months ago, the #3 starter was benched in the post-season last year, and we really have no clue who the #4 or #5 guys even are.

It all of the sudden feels like a very tenuous situation with Nationals continuing to surge.

I’ll play the trade deadline guessing game:

AA goes after another BP arm. Shane Carle has 5.31 era in AAA, he’s not coming up. Whatever happened to Oday?

Julio
Fried
Soroaka
DK
Piece-mealed

Gausman and Foltys next start are probably carrying some extra weight on whether to mke a move for a rental.

My predictions:

1) acquire Bumgarner. My reasoning...he has no trades to every playoff contending team except Minnesota. He wants to play for the Braves. I think he'll either go to Minnesota or force the Giants to accept a decent offer that doesn't include Pache, Waters, or Anderson. I predict that the Twins will be just as hesitant as the Braves to part with multiple elite prospects, as both organizations are at the same place in regards to their rebuild.

2) acquire Amir Garrett from the Reds. He's on the IL now but should come off shortly, and he's been dominant.

3) acquire Shane Greene from the Tigers.

4) Gausman comes back and pitches well.

I could get behind this... I don't like the idea of giving up too much for Bum, but if you can do it at the right price, it seems silly not to take the shot.

Garrett would be a nice piece. Any idea how difficult that would be?

Shane Greene I'm less interested in, as I don't disagree significantly with the fool's gold post from the other day calling out his stats. But... at the right price, it could make sense.

Tehran really deserves the win tonight, but glad the team ultimately won the game.

One thing said during the broadcast which wss interesting is that Adam Duvall is leading the IL in HRs. That might make him attractive as part of a trade deal.

After getting spanked last night winning in a walk off after blowing the lead in the top of the 9th was refreshing.

And frick the Nationals.

ok - i'll ask...why hasn't Duvall got pulled back up?? He plays good-to-great defense and killing it this year...love our team, but we have a struggling LF, a RF with 9 HR and lacks Def range, and we brought back up a hittless CF...what gives???

I’m no expert here, but my guess is they want to show that Ender is healthy for potential trade value, plus Riley needed the day off.

Newcomb is the best reliever. No question about it. He has two great pitches and they play up big time out of the pen. Glad Snit didn't use him as a LOOGY tonight.

I agree. I hope Gausman can figure it out and we use him as a setup guy as well. We have got to get a closer though. Minter should be closing games in Rome right now, and Jackson has had his ups and downs.

Would love to see Newcomb get a shot at it
