Those were also FS1 and MLB network....AL is on those this year and NL goes to TBS.

TBS games last year were 2PM and 7:30 and 4:30 and 8:15 for games 1 and 2.

NL starts first again this year though, so one would think they would have a late afternoon and late night game on day one at least. 5pm and 8:30 hopefully. The night game had so much more energy in the park last year. I took a half day Thursday and all day Friday, so Im good but I hope it doesnt take away from the atmosphere. Im thinking well be the 5pm Thursday game and 2pm Friday game unfortunately.

Here is a link from all games times and networks last year. LINK /

ETA: Going back to the last time TBS had the first two games, 2016, the start times for day one were 4:38 and 8:08. Day two was 1:08 and 4:38. Looks like were about to get fricked on two home day games.

Well perfect. Really sucks to watch like 60% of the games over the season because they’re at a reasonable hour and then have to potentially miss the playoffs because they are day games conflicting with work.

Like what bozo makes these decisions? I know there are competing networks not wanting to strip viewers from each other, but having day games when kids have school and adults have work is a great way to save a “dying national sport”

Its been this way as long as Ive been alive. I remember pops taking me and my brother outta school a couple times to go down to the games. Believe it was 99 vs the Astros was a 1pm game or something around then. I know I got pulled from class and thought I was in trouble then walking down the hall and seeing my dad and REALLY thinking I was in trouble only for him to take us to the game

I’m the definition of the typical MLB fan. If it isn’t the Braves or isn’t the World Series, I’m probably not watching.

Same...this is why I looked up the DS schedule a couple weeks ago, knowing LA would get the night games so I took these first two days off.

If I couldnt, I would absolutely be "sick"

Which is why these game times make absolutely no sense.

whats really going to suck is when St Louis gets the night games cause Washington will be east coast (assuming they win)

The Brewers clinched a playoff spot and the Twins won the AL Central. It’s about go time fellas!

As of now the playoff picture:

Astros 104-54
Yankees 102-57
Twins 98-60

Wild card still up in the air:

Oakland 95-63
Tampa Bay 95-64
Cleveland 93-65

NL:

Braves
Dodgers
Cardinals

Nats and Brewers are in. Milwaukee is a dangerous team right now and hitting their stride at a good time, 19-4 this month and have won 10 of their last 11. They’re 1.5 games behind STL with 4 games to go.

And a special shout out to the Chicago Cubs for absolutely shitting the bed again by losing 8 in a row and successfully eliminating their playoff chances last night.

I'm about ready to go into my self-defense mode and prepare for the worst, despite this being one of the best seasons the Braves have had in a little while. Playing any team from the NL Central in the playoffs is just scary for me.

I just want us to get into the NLCS and give the Dodgers all they can handle. If the bats can get hot and our pitching can hold steady, I like our chance at sneaking by them.

Ultimate dream would be getting through the NLDS with the Nationals waiting for us in the NLCS and then we just absolutely dunk on them for 4 straight games.

And they're both going to keep playing great ball down to the wire to see who wins the Central. Whoever wins is going to be rolling like a freight train. We'll have to come out and punch them in the face in Atlanta.

The Cards scare me because Keuchel would have to pitch out of his mind to match Jack Flaherty in Game 1.

Speaking of, what would everyone's playoff rotation look like?

In a 5 game series, I'd consider going with three starters and having another pitcher come in after the 2nd time through the order.

1. Keuchel/Julio
2. Soroka/Newcomb
3. Fried/Foltynewicz

You'll notice I'd pair a lefty with a righty, which with the Braves pitchers makes nothing really forced.

I was talking to a coworker this morning about the match up with the Cards and he says the Cardinals do not hit lefties well. Outside of their games against the Braves and a few games against random teams I haven't seen much of them.

Keuchel
Folty
Soroka

The Cards have a .747 OPS vs LHP and a .732 OPS vs RHP. Not sure what your coworkers saw to make him think they specifically don't hit lefties well...

I think in general they don't hit anyone well lol. Their lineup isn't that impressive to me, but I think it is RH heavy so we'll definitely want to counter with RHP.

Same here. They haven’t put up very strong offensive numbers. But their pitching rotation is good.

yep.

and regardless of the numbers, they've put up enough offense to go along with the pitching in order to go on a hell of a run, so they are definitely not to be discounted.
