Will This be the Year?

This basketball team is hitting it's stride just in time for the SEC tournament. I think this team can win the SEC tournament this year. There isn't a single team in our path to the title game that should scare this team.
If this team can continue to play defense at the level they have been lately, they can beat any team in the field save maybe Tennessee. I see Tennessee as the most well rounded and complete team in the SEC. Not that they're the best team out there necessarily, but they're the worst matchup for this Razorbacks squad. I think if Arkansas were to face Kentucky in the tournament they have a very good chance to win the thing.
I like seeing Desi Sills in the starting lineup. He is a little turnover prone, but he is another outside threat and a hard-nosed defender. He has stepped into that role nicely. It would be really cool to see Reggie Chaney take the reigns on the starting 4 spot. We just need a LITTLE more production there.
If Gafford can continue playing like he has been lately this team can beat anyone they play.
Remains to be seen of course, but if Arkansas gets past Florida on Thursday I like their chances to win it all depending on what shakes out on the other side between Kentucky and Tennessee.

I called a Sweet Sixteen earlier this year. I doubt they make the Elite Eight.

Nah, even if we make the Final, Kentucky or Tennessee will beat us. Kentucky always has our number in the tournament, even with our best teams.

It is just nice to have more consistent of a scorer coming off the bench in Jones. One of our biggest issues during the year was lack of firepower in the half court when our starters were getting a rest.

One game at a time but yes, I am getting my hopes up again too lol. Florida, South Carolina, & LSU are all extremly winnable for us. I just don't know if we can get over that hill and beat Kentucky or Tennessee in the championship.

Well, I wish we would have because we made it much more difficult for ourselves at this point. If we would have beat Kentucky, would probably just need the Florida win to sneak in the tournament.

One thing I've noticed about this particular Anderson squad that's different from his other teams is that these guys seem to be good students of the game. They learn from their film study (see, LSU this season).
Considering we led Kentucky by like 18 points on their home floor, and the chance to study what went wrong in the final minutes of that game in Rupp, I would feel very confident going into a finals matchup with Kentucky. Tennessee not so much.

I'm afraid this team will be a one and done in the SEC tourney. Kevaughn Allen will probably torch us for 30.

Well, with the way this team has been playing defense lately Florida will need all 30 of those points and then some. I'm not too worried about the Florida game. This team appears to be dialed in right now. Plus, it's getting to be a yearly tradition now for the Hogs to play in the final game.

The Ladybacks beat the team that had won the previous 4 tournaments just a few days back.
