Bert had the Allen's.
Chad has had a 4 star in Storey and another 4 star in KJ.
Pretty equal IMO and any of the latter 4 would have excelled under Petrino, no doubt about it.
We're not talking about Bert. We're talking about BP.
Are you serioulsy trying to compare Mallet and Wilson to Storey and a QB that HASN'T PLAYED A DOWN?

So, Leach, Norvell, all of these others who we are drawing from...
Take them and compare to Petrino with the added stipulations... who would do better and has the knowledge, ability, experience, and well... Baggage?
He would have to agree with specific things prior to this hiring.
1. Hire real coaches with a great package of $$$ and benefits that would have normally been his if he had the option.
2. His assistants need to be incredible recruiters.
3. He actually lets his Defense coach the players during practice.
4. No family members hired until he wins 9-10 games in one season... then only in support positions.
5. Hire a PR firm to aid in his transformation.
6. No buyout on our end, and a huge one on his end...
7. No motorcycles allowed...
Added one!

Wilson was garbage under Smile and did absolutely nothing in the NFL.
Completely hypothetical but I think it's possible Storey eventually could have a year semi comparable to Wilson's best year and that's without a NFL receiving corp.
The point is Chet hasn't been void of QB or in state talent, at least on paper, he's just squandered it at every single opportunity. And Mallett wasn't "in state" he was a transfer from Texarkana.
Chet had all the opportunity in the world to go find a transfer QB. He found two 4 stars and has done jack shite with them.

He found two transfers that can't run an RPO offense. That's what he supposedly wanted to run here. Hammer down, full tilt boogie BS.
Bench them both and play JSJ and KJ or get the frick out.
I'd prefer the latter.

You can run an rpo with a passing quarterback I hope everyone knows that

sure if the plays you call get executed right so the space opens up on the field.
we seem to either have really dumb players or really bad coaching.

For sure but you’d want a dual threat to run it so that the defense playing you has to defend the pass and run. Non-mobile qb means they really only have to protect the pass.

You'd think someone that has coached for the greater part of their entire adult life could figure out how to make it work in some shape or form.
Our offense is a nonexistant POS.
Talking heads are legit asking if we're the worst team in the country. How is that even possible?

The way it works with a non mobile qb is he reads the safety. If the safety comes up to stop the run you pull it and throw the route that’s attacking where the safety is supposed to be. If he stays back to stop the pass you hand it off to the running back and let him get what he can get. ESPN actually had a neat little segment one day where they showed how the rpo is what made LSU offense so deadly this season. Burrow is making all of the right reads and it showed a clip from Florida where once he pulls the ball and throws the slant for 15-20 yards and the next time the safety stays back and the running back takes it about 50 yards to the house. And nowhere in the play design was burrow supposed to run the ball.

I understand how footbaw works bruh. I’m even agreeing that you can run the rpo without a mobile qb. I was simply stating that a mobile qb will give you that third option which is to keep it which could tie up another defender that has to play spy. Was just commenting obvious shite just like everyone else in the obvious shite comment thread.

I think they are referring to Power Five teams.
Massey has us rated 3rd from last:
LINK
Regardless, we are still really bad.

We lost to SJSU, I think it’s worse than just P5.

Regarding NCAA Div. 1, Massey ranks us @ #106, right behind SJSU. But there are a total of 256 teams that are classified as Div. 1.
Out of all FBS teams, we are ranked @#98 out of 130 teams total. And that's still not very good. Not at all.
Good news is that we are not anywhere close to being the worst team in the country. But statistically, we do presently rank close to last place in regard to P5 teams.
