Mr. Leach, come on doooooown!

He can be the pirate to our flagship, marriage made in heaven. This is the type of left-field hire Long makes that nobody saw coming simply because there was zero connection made by the masses out of the loop.

There's others as well that would be exciting hires, including Gundy. Not sure how likely it is, but we gotta keep trying.

Loving this wazzu team right now. I love leach's fire. He bitched his team out for that loss, and now they are pitching a shut out.

His defense is avg about 300 a game. It would be an immense upgrade.

Gundy is the dream hire though. Leach is right there though with Texas connections.

Bump.

Interesting stat on Iowa State's Matt Campbell. He's 2-0 against top 5 opponents this season. Prior to this year, Iowa State was 1-56 against top 5 teams.

Doesn't Campbell have like a $14 million buyout or soemthing. Still though, some whale will come along hire him. Dude is an incredible coach.

It's also gonna be very very interesting to watch how the year ends. Could have 5 or 6 SEC openings, which scares me.... Long might get in his own head and try to justify keeping Bert in a year like this. I've still got us finishing 4-8....it just isn't going to cut it

$9.4 million is the number I saw. Probably too rich for our blood, but he’s a great coach.

He’ll probably be top of mind for the Ohio State job once Meyer retires or leaves.

Yeah, he definetly seems like he's made for the midwest. Wonder if Nebraska takes a shot at him, I Don't think he'll remain in Aimes for long. He would probably be a good fit for Tennessee too, but they're apparently fixated on the Gruden pipedream.

I didn’t even think about that, but it’d be a hell of a good fit.

I hope like hell that Tennessee starts kicking the tires on Gruden again. Their obsessive fixation on him is downright fricking ridiculous considering he hasn’t coached in college since the Reagan Administration.

It would be glorious if it actually happened, because it would be an absolute disaster. For every Pete Carroll there are five Lovie Smiths, Bill Callahans, Dave Wannstedts and Jim Moras.

They'll go after him, but I'm not sure he ends up there. I think Florida and/or Tennessee make a serious run at him.

He'd be a home run for Florida.

runs a nice pass first spread predicated on tall recievers and fade routed. I love it

This is definitely not a good year for us to have an opening. The possibility of having to compete against Florida, Tennessee and potentially Texas A&M and Auburn would not be a good thing for us.

Which may be the reason we have him another season, along with other things...

But, I still think he is ready to leave on his own.. if he finds another position first at least.

This would be the most poor lil Arkiesaw thing we could possibly do given our situation.

You can't let fear of the market cloud your strategy for your football program. We had an opening in 2012 alongside Tennessee and Auburn and didn't end up battling it out for the same coaches as those teams unless you count Gus, who desperately wanted our job.

The notion that the coaching carousel is like a fantasy auction is a fallacy. When was the last time SEC programs had simultaneous openings and went toe to toe for the same candidate?

Don't be scared.

Tennessee isn't the job it once was. That program hasn't won ten games in a season in a decade.

aTm is going to go after one guy if they have an opening.

Florida lately, has liked hiring coordinators. Not sure why, but to me Florida has hired some not so "flashy" type of coaches. Muschamp and then McElwain. Both were head scratchers to me. I think they would look in Florida at Kiffin...but thats just me. They've had such a mediocre to bad offense for so long, Kiffin would fit what they need. That hire would also get under Smart and UGA's skin immediately.

If I was Florida, I’d look at Chip Kelly, Lane Kiffen and Dan Mullen. All three of those folks would be a good fit for them, IMO.

Yea. Kelly would be a good fit. Mullen I bet would consider it long and hard.

Mullen has had chances to leave State but he hasn't. Not sure why, but it would be interesting to see him there and what he could do. I would imagine they want someone who is an offense first guy considering that side of the ball has been an issue for a while now.

I can see Mullen taking the Florida job, the timing seems perfect, especially with his old AD there.

Maybe the reason he stays is because of job security. State is satisfied with above average football, with the occasional really good team that might be in the top 10
