For an amateur I guess it is.
Couldn't stand on one leg for the cop.

whiskey drunk to me implies you're way out of control. maybe hanging out driver window playing bumper cars down Dickson.
or try to fight the cop, throwing sandwich at cop, or trying to drink from the breathalyzer

.09 is like driving after 3 beers. Whiskey drunk is like .25 or higher.

I stand by my statement I made a few years ago on this board. He should've been fired after year 1. That team should have won a minimum of 5 games. And if morris only wins 3 games year 1 he should be fired as well.
That's crazy. No coach, even Bert, should be fired after one season barring scandal especially if you're Arkansas and want to attract a decent coach. Even really successful programs are pulling the trigger at the end of year three at the earliest. Four years is a very reasonable amount of time to give a coach, and the Missouri and Virginia Tech embarrassments should have been the end of Bert. You are correct in that our former AD held Bert to a really low standard and that manifested itself with the monstrous buyout after a 7-6 season. That's why that AD found himself unemployed along with Bert, and he was replaced by an AD that professes to have high expectations and give a shite about wins and losses.

Well, okay then.
He was drinking whiskey. He showed it to the cop.
He was legally drunk.
He could not pass sobriety tests.
Call it what you want.

Nah I guarantee you any top tier coach wouldn't be scared to come to any school. A coach who is worth a damn to have ththe confidence that he can get it done no matter what and he isn't worried about getting fired because he isn'tworried about losing 9 games. I dont want a coach afraid of a challenge or scared of being fired that's a loser mentality

It's a completely insane notion based in some fairy tale logic, but I've already argued this until I was blue in the face a few months ago so I'll just leave it be.

Ok man. Go become the AD of a college football program that needs a reboot and that traditionally is lower in the recruiting pecking order than its peers. Start making coaching changes every year. I'm curious to see how it works out for you.

In the last 50 years of Arkansas football going by my logic we wouldve fired 1 coach after just 1 season and that wouldve been bielema.

Jack Crowe would fit your model then. On paper Bert was a good hire, on the field not so much.
Jack Crowe was a bad hire period.

Ok, and how would that have been perceived? Firing a successful Big Ten coach after one season coming off the Petrino / Johnelle debacle would have been a really, really bad look and the feelings amongst media, fans, recruits, and the network of coaches would've been extremely negative. Do you remember the anonymous coaches' quotes about our 2013 team? They said things like "I feel really bad for Bret" and "they're going to be terrible." Now imagine how it would have gone over if Arkansas had fired Bert one year into trying to fix that dumpster fire. Who the frick would Arkansas have gotten if they had done that? What recruit would want to come here? shite is bad now, but we would be Kansas at this point if things had played out in that retarded alternate reality.
I can't believe you're making me defend Bert

Kelley’s onside kick routine would be something to behold at the collegiate level. With the new kickoff fair catch rules and so much KO legislation trying to end it, it might actually work.

For it to work, one would need a fantastic offensive scheme and to be at a program like Bama where they could out talent almost everyone they play to mitigate some of the harsh negative side effects. It works for PA for those reasons.
